Poker has been going pretty terrible overall. Tons of deep runs with getting screwed with anywhere from 5 to 100 left. It seems my KK vs 77 is becoming more of a race, but obviously it is just variance and something is uncontrollable. What’s important is that I’m very confident in my game, realize that I’m getting it in very good most of the time and playing my best, and that eventually I will hold in some of these situations and win some big money like last year. It does get tough after most of the year being this way though.
Good side to the downswing was me winning an EPT London seat on sunday, so I will chalk that up to #2 EPT for this year that I’ll be playing, starting with EPT Villamoura in Portugal. Leaving tomorrow, and playing day1a on the 28th I believe, so check out pokernews.com if you’d like to see updates. Don’t have a twitter and not sure if I feel like setting one up yet, my phone usually doesn’t work. I will probably email updates to RonFezBuddy so maybe he can post them in the scrolling box.
Even though poker has been not-so-hot, I have been coaching a lot more. I’ve been really happy doing it, and both hearing about such great results my students are having. Not trying to advertise or whatever, but it just makes me really proud to see someone doing something that I explained and told them, and doing well because of it. It also improves my game a ton from all the extra analyzing I get to do, and helps me stay confident for the day-day grind when variance gets tough.
My Sony Vaio’s charger port broke off on monday which really sucks. Now I have to get it soddered and taken apart to repair it and it happens in just short enough of time where I can’t do it before leaving to Portugal. Blahhhhhhhh
Oh well, off to pack for a repeat final table appearance
