Hyper Turbo Strategy

Lighting Money On Fire

Hi guys,

Im looking to start grinding some hyper turbos on the IPN network which I think are super soft and was hoping for some general hyper turbo advice.

The game runs like this:

  • 5 players
  • 1500 starting stack
  • 3 min blinds
  • blind structure runs 15/30, 25/50, 50/100, 150/300 and so on with no antes.
  • 70% prize for the winner, 30% second

The poker client is probably one of the worst i have played on and the traffic is'nt great but they run a VIP reward system which lets me use points to buy into big live events here in the UK which with one or two decent scores a year could make these already profitable turbos a real earner.

They run all the way from £1+0.10 through to £100+10 and i will probably be starting at the £10+1 level with a few £15+1.50 and £20+2 thrown in to make up for the slow traffic.

I have come across one or two regs grinding a decent profit but on the whole theses games are full of fish wanting a quick fix with no idea about push fold ranges etc. Its not uncommon to find 3 players calling a 4x open in the first level with A4o, KQo and so on

Not sure if i would need one anyway but I can't seem to find a HUD that will work with the client. Also the hand histories are saved onto a web based program (ridiculous i know) instead of my PC which means that using SNG wizard to run over hand histories is not possible.

I feel pretty competent with my push/fold game but would just like some clarification on adjusting to the 5 handed play

So my initial questions are:

  • what should my starting bankroll be considering the low varience
  • during the early levels (15/30, 25/50) is a standard 3x open fine
  • during the early levels what is my opening range
  • during the early levels what is my open/call-shuv/re-shuv range
  • at what stage do i start to open shuv – how many BBs
  • during the mid stages (50/100, 100/200) is a standard min raise fine
  • during the mid stages am i opening Ax, KQo type hands from any position
  • during the mid stages how do i play small/medium pocket pairs
  • Should heads up just be an unexploitable push fold game, with nothing fancy thrown in?

Some genral B vs B advice would also be much appreciated because as with MTTs this is where i have found most of my problem situations arising.

Just about to go back over DannyN13s hyper vids and hopefully find some of the answers in there but any help/advice you guys or any other TPE members can give would be much appreciated

Thank you!
