Good morning TPE from Florida! It’s Black Friday and I’d rather play and learn more about poker than go shopping!

My name is Scott, if you didn’t guess, and I’m a 29 year old amateur poker player. I have a real job so I play and absorb as much NLTE as I can in my off time.

While I was always familiar with poker and knew how to play, I didn’t jump head first into the pool until about April 2014.  Since then I’ve improved my game drastically. Despite my ROI is still in the red, I just came off my best month ever in October, cashing in 7 tournaments including three 2nd place finishes and one 1st place finish, grossing about $15k. I play all live since online poker is still in a legal gray area in the states.

My goal is to become a live tournament professional amateur – meaning when I’m not working at my job, I’m playing poker and as a reliable 2nd source of income. I’ve come across a lot of variance in my local cash games but I think my tournament peers at my local room me one of the best there and respect my play.  I’ve even been offered staking before and invited to share action at the upcoming Million Dollar Heater at the Beau Rivage in January.

My goal with TPE is to learn all I can and to network! I’d love to hear from you and any comments you may have.
