Cash Game

1/2 NLH

Sat down got a couple hands doubled my buy in, in first hour

Moved seats,

A guy that had been hitting left, so I switched seats from one that hadn’t hit in hours.

Few hands pass and take a couple small pots.

Get A/10heart

I’m button

V is CO

Pre:

Calls around to V, V raises to $10

I call the rest fold

Flop:Qheart8heart4heart

V bets $40, I’m ecstatic this hit his range and I’ve got him crushed

What do ya think I should do? Shove? 3-bet? Call?

Essential to know stacks here, if you want help in figuring out how to get them in. Also I feel compelled to add that worrying about things like “hot seats” isn’t doing any favors for your game.

Didn’t get a couple needed factors in:

Hero had $137, V had me slightly covered

V is loose aggro, in 48 – 55% of hands, raising most of those,

V has bought in three times for $100 each time in as many hours

Had utmost confidence we’d get V’s chips in the middle if he had top pair or better.

I’d call to keep in bluffs and weak hands and check-shove the turn. Being this shallow makes it much easier to get value. Pot after calling flop is ~110 and effective behind is just $87. Any turn bet commits V. We just prey another heart doesn’t come. If V checks turn and both turn and river are blanks I target a hand like QT probably bet small but enough to balance bluffs. Maybe $45 in to $110.

…but this is fairly readless and much can depend on read and run-out. Is this V the type to slow down with a weak Q on the turn or barrel, scared of the flush or bet a naked draw, etc? If this guy is spewing and bad and he has a Q we can probably just shove on the flop. If he is bluff-heavy but folds to aggression then a call is best. If he is a call-station and we take my line above, I may just shove the river with an SPR under 1. Considering how passive my line is it may look like we are trying to buy it no matter how big we bet..

Fortunately I got him all in on the flop, however and unfortunately, he flopped two pair and turned a full house. Just poker, moved on to better hands and better stomping grounds.
