When Ukkel donked 1BB I wanted to protect my hand so I raised it to 4BB then nutsfifh cold called(this got me worried since he had a tight range). Then Ukkel shoved all-in. At this point , first donk bet looked “inducing mean bet”. Now he could have anything including 8T, sometimes even 58. and any set would put me in a horrible spot. Especially tighter nutsfifh to act behind me. So I opted to fold.

You have only 17bigs, I would just open shove with this pre flop.

As played i am not folding overpair, V can be on a draw, can be a huge draw, but there is dead money in the pot, and you block one of the heart.

Against some draws hero have about 57.02% against the BB´s range. Here is the range I calcultate for BB: TT-66, A9s, J9s, T8s+, 97s+, 87s, 76s, KhQh, KhJh, QhJh, KhTh, QhTh, JhTh, Ah8h, Jh8h, Ah6h, 8h6h, 6h5h, A9o-A8o, J9o, T9o

Not sure what the range for the MP is, since he is with ~15bigs, I think all pairs and strong Aces he would just 3bet shove pre flop, and if he has two pairs or a set he should be 3bet shoving flop.

I would call that and hope to see draws.

I am curious about their ranges, if you post here after more replys i would apreciatte it smile.

Personally I believe yo made the right choice. with info I have, Wasn’t given much to go on, as far as, reads for V, looks late in tourney as the blinds are somewhat large. is it past the bubble, is the next payout jump large?

BB had odds to call Pre with a very wide range of hands

Tight player cold calling MP, poss. 4 card straight/flush, 2 pair, poss. trips

BB puts in really small bet then when raised shoves.

Would like to see out come after a few more posts.

If somebody sees me posting a mistake please let me know so I…… well, so I know.

Nice post, almo. The problem I see in some of the posts here is a failure to consider equity and pot odds. I think both OP and Jupiter seem to be saying, “well, there are a bunch of hands V could have that beat me, guess I better fold”, but that’s not all there is to it. He could also have draws or worse hands for value, and you have to compare your equity against that entire range to the pot odds you are getting.

Also as a rule of thumb, if you see a flop with an SPR of less than 2, you should pretty much always be stacking off with an overpair.

So here is probably one of my leaks as I to would have folded that hand, even after putting out all those chips.

However I have called those all ins on similar boards with the same hand and both won and lost the hand, won because V’s hands didn’t improve, and lost due to over cards limping in and/or the person straightening out on me.

Put it through a poker equity calc with the following results:

Preflop:

Hero: keeps bouncing around 50.4% equity

Neutfifh:18.8% equity

Ukkel:30.6 equity

Flop:

Hero: 41.78% equity, 48.19%

Nutsfifh: 31.46% equity I gave him an 11% range, However, 86s doesn’t appear until a 48.8% range is achieved (heros second stat)

Ukkel: I gave a wider range of 15.0% of hands that made his equity 26.76% before updating nutsfifh range after that, it became 29.49%

Turn:

Hero: 56.9 % equity

Nutsfifh: 19.3 % equity

Ukkel: 23.7 %

River:

Hero: 73.3 %

Nutsfifh: 12.2%

Ukkel: 14.9%

So the hooks definitely had the equity to call all the way. I still feel that the tournament dynamics and pay jump should still have an influence on the hand. Any thoughts on that?

How did you do over all in the Tournament LasPark? Not that that has anything to do with the strategy of this hand.

The reason I folded that hand was because of the pay jump since it was the final table.

My read was if I were behind , it would be higher pocket by Nutsfifh

be set or straight by Ukkel.

So if Ukkel bust Nutsfifh , I would  ladder up automatically. Thought it was definitely +ICM situation.

Plus there was a player with 4BB who wasn’t in the pot.

Turned out to be I was ahead and would’ve sit on leading chip if I played it right .

And I ended up in 7th place after all those shit. haha

I didn´t know this was FT, I don´t have a ICM calculator here, but having about 11bbs on stack, i am not sure i fold still, guess i like the call better, give hero a chance to have a big stack and go for the win.
