I don’t know if everybody have the same feeling, but I really feel video serie especially HH review/live review are too long and I lose my motivation to watch till the end. 5-8 parts seems infinite.

what do you think?

It depends. There are series that has a lower amount of parts, I think Andrew Brokos has a fairly new series HH review a $10 tournament that I think is 3 parts.

I would recommend watching Andrews series of hand reading and c-betting. What Andrew does differently then what I see from other videos is that he puts up examples, ask you to pause the video and think for yourself, a great way in his theory videos to keep watchers sharp!

bigdogpckt5s is, atleast in my opinion one of the most entertaining players.

I also think you are approaching the videos in the wrong way. If you find watching a long series boring you need to approach them in a different way.

1. Try to identify your leaks. Check in HM2 and watch Matthew Hunts “From Zero to Hero” 10 part series. Yes it is a long series but the first 3 parts he goes over HM2 stats with a student and it gives you a really good idea if you are on track in general.

2. When you have identified your leaks, go watch some videos in that stage of the game and look for these situations and see how another player approaches them and why.

I would really recommend watching Andrews videos first. Start with hand reading, watch it, take notes if needed and then open up a hand history from one of your old tournaments. Turn off so known cards aren’t shown and start hand reading, do it every hand, doesn’t matter if it is a showdown, just do it every hand.
Oh, you were wrong in a hand? replay it and redo the hand reading. Now you also know the hand, why did you discount that hand? Maybe you need to re-think hand ranges preflop?

This is a superb way to learn hand reading. When you feel you got it, go ahead and play 1-4 tables and start hand reading. After a while, watch the series again and redo the hand history again.

You can pretty much do the same with c-betting series.

If you loose concentration. Watch 1 or 2 parts, go play some 180 mans or something for an hour, then go back and watch part 3 and 4.

There is no quick way to learn, it doesn’t happen over a day. I can say this though, most of the videos here has much higher learning quality then on other sites I’ve been a member on. Not saying there isn’t competing sites but you get value for your money here.

Another thing you can do is make a schedule. For example, for myself I sometimes loose concentration because I would rather play a session then watch 3-4 videos. Ok, then I watch 1-2 videos and then play a session, though shorter and might finish with a 3rd video.

I hope this can help you with your studying and that it can give you some good results in the future.

Also post hands here on the forum. That way you can get feedback on your thought process and play. Remember that just because someone has a different opinion about a spot they are not always right, but it’s good to be open-minded to different ideas.

great post.  I think it is definitely a case of “different strokes for different folks” although I do think there is a point where a series becomes too long.  We will keep an eye on that factor for sure!

yes great post thanks man.

I still think it sometimes too long, may be alternate 1, 2 parts stuff , with some longer ones rather than having 3 weeks with 2 pro multipart. something between the stop and go and longer serie, a kind of 1/2 theory concept.
