I am not a fan of the blocker bets in the QQ hand. I feel like they are exactly what they look like and I would raise those bets some percentage of the time. Those bets just look weak/scared. Im guessing the plan is to fold to a raise right? Why not just check call the turn? and check fold on bad rivers. In this spot I dont thnik that a heart is that bad of a river, because if we check turn I would assume that the player will check back with the hearts a decent amount of the time. We also need to know the player and have a idea if the player will bet an ace for value otr. most people will check back and not value bet thin enough. I know these are all assumptions but just food for thought.

Hey Bonezy! Im going to look into the spot your talking about now. In the future when you have a spot can you just write here what time in the video the hand in question is at so its easy for me to find and answer any questions thanks!

OK Bonezy in this hand these really small bets are not exactly blocker bets, they are more so just really small value bets! The other player in the hand is unknown and therefore it is hard to judge exactly what he will do in spots like this. I feel like when he calls pre and then calls a cbet on this type of board he’s more likely to have a pocket pair type of hand and on the ace turn its going to be very hard to get any value what so ever from a worse hand. In most cases like this if he had a big ace we probably would of heard about it preflop… The reason for not just check calling turn is when we check he’s more likely to put us on a hand like we have and might turn his hand into a bluff thinking he can fold out KK JJ QQ etc, even tho we only bet 1 blind i think he’s more likely to just call small 1 pair sort of hands and hope to be good rather than raise and turn it into a bluff, and yes i was folding to a raise on the turn.

I understand alot of the reasoning behind your small value bet. This guy is unknown like you said, but against a more savy/ expirenced player, do you still make this type of bet? I feel like if someone makes this bet against a solid player then they will come over the top with alot of hands as bluffs then we are forced to fold. IMO when we make very small bets in relation to the pot our opponents bluffing frequancy also goes way up. Love the vids and love the fact you actually come on here and talk to us about spots and situations in the videos.

Yes your 100% right Bonezy. This is deffs player dependent, I wouldnt be trying to make this small of a value bet vs a good reg< In that case i would more then likely check and try and induce a bluff but it's hard to say 100% what i would do. It's always going to depend on player and the table dynamic! Thanks for the kind words man im super glad you guys are enjoying them.
