TPE pro Mike "goleafsgoeh" Leah dominated WCOOP with an 8th place finish in the overall leaderboard, and of course, a chop of the Main Event. Earlier in the series he recorded a live sweat featuring a number of WCOOP tables. This is part five of five.

Great series Mike thank you! I would be very interested to read an article about your min raise strategy, even 10/20 blind levels etc. Your note taking is fantastic and it’s definitely something i will be trying to keep up with in the future. Definitely one of my favourite tutors on TPE so please keep em coming….ps: use the info tab on your table to get all the information you need from the lobby and save yourself having to open a new window so often!
lol thanks I do know about the info tab I just like to see the whole lobby! Glad you enjoyed the series; we have talked about a Min-Raise article, perhaps in the new year.
Happy New Year!
great series!
+1 to the minraise article, although I think you explained it already a bit in your vids. I’ve used it too in my last sessions and I love it.
btw: any reason why you don’t use a hud? some people (myself included) don’t like how huds clutter up the screen .. but for MTTs you only need VPIP/PFR/3bet% anyway – and with those 3 numbers my hud looks really clean.
I don’t really have an objection to using a HUD; the information can def be helpful I just haven’t used it up to now. I don’t play that many tables and like to trust my “feel” for the game but extra information is always good. I will most likely be adding HM2 very shortly.
Hi Mike, another great series. At around 24mins when you min raise qkos utg1, you say that you would fold to a 3bt and you have 15bbs. Is this not a mistake raise-folding such a short stack, especially from EP.
Hey mickman thanks; so I’ll go into my thinking a bit more here…I like to open KQ with 14-20bb’s as #1 it looks like a pretty big hand when I open an under 20bb stack I don’t think I’m going to get 3bet light very often so it is a good steal spot. Plus if I do get flatted I feel it is often by “pretty” hands that they don’t want to re-raise to play for my stack but don’t wan’t to fold like KJs, QJs, etc.. A range which we have dominated pretty well with KQ. If someone does 3bet my under 20bb open I expect them to have a pretty good hand that they are willing to play for my stack with and I don’t think KQ matches up very well. Now 1 important factor here is this is a very slow structured event; if this was a turbo I would likely lean toward open shoving, or raise calling off. For the most part I prefer to gather as much info as possible so I prefer to open see what happens and make the best read/decision possible.
