Monte Carlo

So, I just finally returned from Europe after being away for about a month.  Even though nothing went right, I’m glad to be home and excited to grind FTOPS/SCOOP.

After San Remo, my friend, Joe Serock (floes online), and I took a mini-trip to Amsterdam before EPT Montecarlo started. It was the first time I’d ever been there and was really awesome.  We rented bikes and were able to get pretty much wherever we wanted on bikes alone. I really like the way the city is layed out in such a way. Bikes outnumber cars very easily and it just seems to be a very friendly atmosphere.  Saw the Anne Frank house and enjoyed the sites (and smells) but only was able to stay for three nights.

So we hoof it back to Nice to cab over to Monte Carlo and I start up the next day for the main event. The first 2 or 3 hours go pretty fine, chipping up to around 38K without too many showdowns/good hands.

My table breaks and I get moved to what seems to be a much harder one. I cold 4bet A3o only to have the guy flatcall out of position. I flopped the A and he got one street out of me with AQ. Don’t really like his play seeing as when he doesn’t flop an A or Q he’s losing the pot every time…but whatever! =)

After that, a 3bet attempt failed,  an open with KJo failed and then I 3bet squeezed TT on the button to a HJ open and CO flat…only to get cold 4bet from the BB. Tanked a little bit and decided it wasn’t a good spot to shovel the chips in.

An orbit later, HJ opens again to 1100 @ 200/400/50, and I jamalam AJo with around 10,800 or something.  He calls with 99 and I lose the race.  Bleh.

Even more bleh, I’m coming home to find that the hotel we originally booked for Monte Carlo, but was too far away so we canceled, has indeed charged me for the full stay anyway!  So I may be screwed on that but I will be spending today trying to figure out why this is legal lol.

Cheers,

Panda
