Since then I just haven’t been able to win anything for the life of me. Today was no different. It looked like I might snap out of it for a minute as I built a stack and made a deep run in the FTOPS $500 6-max PLO event. Unfortunately, though, I lost a medium-sized pot to bring me down to ~20BB and then the blinds went up and I ended up getting my 12BB in with AAxx against AKQTds on a J99 flop and an 8 turned to knock me out in 16th.
It’s a little ironic that my two best finishes in FTOPS have both come in PLO events. I FT’d a $100r PLO a few FTOPS ago and then today’s 16th finish.
Oh well. I’ve been through this before, and I know from experience that it will end, and that when it does I’ll win some absurd amount of money that hardly seems real. I’m really hoping that’ll happen soon, though, during FTOPS or SCOOP, or even better yet the WSOP.
Speaking of the WSOP, I nailed down my living situation this week. I had originally planned on getting a place with a couple of guys I lived with last year–TT_Fold and CompleteDonk from 2p2. That fell through, though, and I found myself responding to every single post in the 2p2 marketplace for openings in houses in Vegas for the WSOP.
I found one place and was in the process of putting down a deposit when my friend David–HeyImDro online–told me that he had an opening in the condo he’d lined up. I snap accepted and am really excited. It’s really close to the Rio, so I’ll be able to walk there this year which will be really nice. I also have got to know David pretty well this year–we both live in Tahoe–and we are the same age, have a lot in common, etc.
I’m looking forward to living in an environment that is very focused on playing as much as possible and really making a splash this year. I fully expect to do very well and look forward to bringing TPE home it’s very first bracelet.
Anyway, that’s all for now. Tomorrow is a pretty big day. Wish me luck.
Regards,
Hagbard
