For those that do not know, my day job is in the music business.  I do sales and marketing for a record company…something I have been doing for 15+ years.  A year or so ago I was laid off from one label, and during that time I took a shot at playing poker for a living.  Around that time I was contacted by a producer for the show “The Story” which airs on National Public Radio.  They were doing a lot of interviews with people who were losing their jobs in this tough economy, and the ways in which people were dealing with it.  They were interested in my story of losing my “dream job” but then finding a new one in poker.

Well, I ended up taking another job in the music business, but out of that attempt to play poker for a living, this website was born.  And apparently that was the sort of “suprise ending” that made my story compelling.  So a month or so ago I went in to the studio here in North Carolina and was interviewed for several hours by the host Dick Gordon.

Each episode of The Story is an hour long and usually features 2-3 interviews, so Im assuming they will have edited out much of my interview.  But hopefully it will still be interesting to both music fans and poker players.

If you would like to listen it airs on NPR on Tuesday, May 12th.  It’s on at 1 PM here in North Carolina, but I assume that could vary by market.
