This pertains to us getting 3 bet by a villain. Especially in SB vs BB spots.

What type of 3 bet range would you assign an unknown villain when we are 30-40 bb's effective? Both pre-antes and then later with antes and likely slightly shallower stack sizes.

I am sure we should range on the stronger side… but how much does SB vs. BB play vary from a normal 3 bet spot where we open from MP and get button raised, etc.?

If this is too vague let me know and I'll try to rephrase it.

i always seem to give a really wide range to a BB 3bet to our sb open, but thats because i open a crapload from the sb as a steal (i even show a profit from the sb 😛 )

Yeah… I meant more like during the first few orbits after a table change if you don't see anything that stands out too much.

Once I settle in at a table I feel like I'm really good at ranging people against my own table image.

A lot of the question centered around a hand played earlier today and thd question is really aimed at trying to figure out how to determine if the 3bet is a move or a hand and should we just assume its a hand and what range would that fall into.

its a tough one, i think it comes down to whether the player is a thinking one or not.

if they are, i think their range can be just about 100% in some spots, assuming we are aggressive from the sb in general.

if I get 3-bet bvb and I'm holding two 2s I'm probably shipping with a 30 big blind stack.  Blind play is so different and only 1 in 16 times someone has a pair, so I'm shipping it super wide here.  If i have to show down 22, I now have the table presence of someone who isn't that nitty and can mix it up with 22.

On the other side of the coin, I'd probably shove QTs, for the same image reasons above.

Nice, I like this reply. How are you handling Ax hands? Same way? As in not being afraid of a better Ax showing up?
