Do you guys have any thoughts on special strategy for rush tournaments.  In mid to late stages with an average or bigger stack is it better to be raising more preflop to take advantage of people using quick fold or better to fold more to see more hands and try to pick up premiums?

As someone who has FT'd one and made some other deep runs I felt like at the $10 buy-in and below it was better to just play strong hands once you get that deep stacked. Other times I was trying to open light and w/e and I felt like 3-betting happened way more in these Rush games than a freezeout.

So I tightened up my opens and 3 bet LP opens a ton and it worked well.

Thanks thats what i felt too i made it kind of deep in one yesterday but i dont play many.  I was getting flatted pre and floated on the flop a ton.  I think i would have been better off waiting for strong hands and only raising hands that flop well in late position

to be honest – I have only played like three rush tournaments.  It's just way too hard to include them in a tournament rotation when you are grinding normal tournaments as well.  THey require too much attention.

Ya it's very difficult to play 7 other tourneys and 1 rush tourney because the action is so fast.  I don't play many at all except for the occasional super turbo or FTOPS event.

i have a 1st and 2nd spote in a 11$ and a 26$ + many deep runs (9th to 20th) 5r, 10r , 26, 11 etc…

after antes i open any playable hand… i 3bet a lot with hands that flop well (as semi-bluf but with the potential to flop), i flat with semi stronge hands AQ-99-TT etc…

whent he game goes to short handed and less than 27 left or so i tighten up a bit… but i usually have the chips not to worry about it a lot…

but now that i have started to do big sessions i dont include rush tourneys in them… the only good thing is that once u go to ft its usually sooooo easy….

namassean – I don't think any of us are experts on rush poker to make a video.  If you know of anyone that is crushing them though, let us know.  We are always looking for new talent and the thought of a guest spot isn't out of the question.
