Oh crap! I love this post...sorry Garfieldno, I'd have been all over it had I seen it!

Over a year late, hope you didn't get too depressed no-one answered (well, one person). Where is joelshitshow btw? He still a member? Sometimes I get paranoid after I write a neglected thread, that everyone hates me and thinks I'm a loser and would just shut the f$%k up! But I have a great remedy for such a mental state. In fact I utilize it in my daily life...probably far too much, as it has got me in serious trouble...it's called the: "I truly don't give a hot sh!t mate, about anything at all whatsoever" mindset. It's great for dealing with neglected threads at TPE, but it's not so fantastic for one's career prospects.

Garfieldno said:

"It’s nothing brutal, but it seems my mind isnt satisfied by grinding the micro’s, and I go up(never anything bigger than $5 but that’s bad enough)"

I have an interesting solution for you, which might seem counter-intuitive: move up stakes...if you are able to afford it at all.

You mention you have a "good job", and I understand that is all relative: I have zero clue how old you are or your personal circumstances; what would constitute a "good job" for a young guy without kids to support and a mortgage to pay wouldn't touch the sides for somebody with those responsibilities. But if I were in your shoes, I would take a chunk of change, and plonk it down as my BR.

The reason I suggest this is because I have the same problem with micros: they just don't hold my interest and I end up donking my money away. It is crucial, unless you are super-disciplined, to play at a stake which maintains your interest. For myself? $10 tourneys minimum.

WRT BR, if you are playing on large field sites such as Stars, I'm afraid that means you need probably 200 buy-ins, minimum. This is the game you love, and unfortunately these are the parameters. Even for $5, you'll need $1000.

So for a $50 roll, you'll need to be playing the $0.25c's on Stars. If that were myself? I'd feel exactly the same as you...in fact I wouldn't even bother playing...no disrespect to your roll, in fact at present it's only 50% of mine! But I would have literally zero interest playing those stakes.

If you're playing smaller field sites, you still need 100-150 BI's @your average stake.

Oh, and in case you're wondering how I play $10 minimums on a $100 roll? I have this wonderful invention: an overdraft.

Just play a lot of lower variance micro stuff, such as 50-cent 45s, 90s, 180s, etc. Whatever they have available to you. Stick with buyins of 1% of your roll or less.

Hello again TPE 🙂

Today I'm writing to you guys to get some insight and maybe some help on my current issue at hand.

I belive one of my biggest problems(leaks if you want) is that I find myself always in a hurry, even though I'm not.

For example, whenever I sign tournaments, I tend to sit tightly for about 1-2 hours and making right calls and whatnot,

But after awhile I keep getting in a hurry to win it seems, and I do know deep down that I wont be able to win a tournament early on, but there's something in my mind that's not rested enough on it, so I tend to do stuff that always kills my tournament life.

And to the second issue, which is a part of the same category, BRM!

I'm not afraid of loosing my BR due to having a good job that allows me to redeposit whenever I go bust, but I want to stop doing so, and want my graphs to go more upwards than down,

I can keep within a BRM for a while, but then again, I start signing up for more interesting tournaments and that way I boink out my BR.

It's nothing brutal, but it seems my mind isnt satisfied by grinding the micro's, and I go up(never anything bigger than $5 but that's bad enough)

And again, my mind is totally aware of my actions and totally aware of the risks, but it's the same problem as me having a hurry in tournaments to win them as I mentioned earlier.

So now I'm asking you guys, is there anyone here with the same problems or similar ones?

Also: Can someone actually just put together a BRM for me, for MTTSNG/MTT's? (for a BR of $50.)

Cus I know my mind is better at following stuff if I got it right infront of me, instead of thinking it..

I can pay you for it, if you feel like it's timewasting.

So that would be REALLY appriciated!

Thanks for your time.

Regards!
