Forsure being in better physical condition will transfer to better mental conditioning as well. Exercise helps you cope with stress mental and physical which is a benefit when it comes to playing poker or any facet of life. I find if I slack off from my normal exercise sched. my play suffers.

I am a massive fan or Physical Conditioning when it comes to our Mental State. The way our body, mind and emotional systems react after exercise has an enormous impact on being the best poker player you can be.

You will never know unless you implement some form of exercise before sessions over a 2-3 week period. You dont have to train intensely, just get the heart pumping and begin to create some new behavours.

You wont regret it 😉

I noticed an improvement when I started training a couple of weeks ago for my upcoming events. To keep me motivated, I made poker my reward for completing my workouts and I was much more focused. Even if I am not training for a race, I will be keeping my workouts before a big session-I just feel better. Thanks for the feedback!

Just wondering what Jamie and other members felt about the importance of physical conditioning and poker? I find that when I workout before playing a long session, my mind is more relaxed. Couple of years ago, I was running a lot of half-marathons and I felt great. However, I was plagued with a few injuries and surgeries that resulted in not running for awhile and depression. I just started training again for a couple of events and it really has helped my poker mindset. I try to exercise or run before a long session and when I sit down and play, I feel more focused. In my opinion mental conditioning and physical conditioning are symbiotic.
