His solution was, and still is, to wear high vis industrial ear muffs typically used by those in the construction industry. He looks rediculous but assures me that the 'Do Not Disturb' message is well received. He can't hear his colleagues hanging shit on him about it either... Win/win!

Seriously, I live in Boston and take the subway every day. Best $200 I'll ever spend on anything in life. The mouths are flapping and you don't hear a thing. 

I've told people that I treat poker as a part-time job and not a hobby to kill time, so I expect to be able to focus and hope they understand when I will not talk to them if I am making a deep run. Most get it. I don't care about the ones who don't, to be honest.

Not variance, not bad beats, idiot roommates who can't take a hint to leave you alone while you're grinding! Just today I'm playing several tournaments and one roommate asks me to finish off his haircut in the back of his neck, then the other one has the tv on max vol 50...because he's a retard, then the other one can't cook worth a damn so he's consantly coming up to me asking how to make his dinner as he's cooking...

 

Meanwhile, I've busted out of two tournaments going on a 3rd.../end rant.
