To answer your question brooksea the hardest part to keep up was staying withing my bankroll management scheme. More to the point because of my schedule wanting to play higher to score something big enough to be able to quit work.

My day usually starts at 5am and ends whenever my last poker tournament ends - as I am taking a full course load and working to pay for it.

My lunch hour and morning hours are spent studying and my weekend morning are spent studying and completing assignments or completing work related projects. Considering I am going into a crucial portion of school I've realized that the toll it has taken on my body is not something I can sustain - so to that end poker will be placed on the backburner to concentrate on school.

I am taking the remainder of my bankroll setting a new goal as I have no school till January 4th 2010. Not to play over my roll but playing as much as humanly possible till then since I don't celebrate christmas so it will poker poker poker till January 31st a quick break to celebrate NYE and back to the grind till January 4th 2010.

I have saved up enough money that I would need to win at least $10k by that date to be able to take a year off of work to finish school and play poker casually. If not I will have to stop playing until the summer time to concentrate on school. As per my previously stated $1000 BR Challenge. I am nowhere close to being a pro and have no dreams of becoming one so my meal ticket is graduating with stellar grades so something had to give.

Well I hope I haven't bored you with my reply -

Happy Holdays!

PS: I will be video capturing the sessions in case something magical happens and I am able to grab $10k in net porfits. Of course I know that I have to be realistic and know full well that i will have to be watching from the sidelines starting January 4th 2011.

I really like it that you have put so much thought into creating a structure to reach your goal. It looks like you are off to a great start. I look forward to an update, and I am curious how hard it has been to stick to your goal of reviewing the hands. Thanks for putting it out there. Best of luck!

I am in the midst of my first ever positive tournament month! Mind you at the moment I am only showing a profit of $54 but all great journeys begin with small baby steps. 🙂

I thought I would take this opportunity to set some goals for the remainder of the year

ESSENTIALS:

RULES TO FOLLOW:

Only enter tournaments with a max entry fee of $10 + JUICE

Review all the exits and large pots (Won and Lost) for leaks, missed value opportunities, etc.

Post at least 1 interesting hand in the forums a week for discussion amongst the wicked TPE community.

Never check ‘skins scores online while playing because D McNabb and Mikey “I’m nothing without John Elway” Shanahan are more tilting than flopping trip aces against 2-3O and losing to a runner runner wheel draw.

GOALS:

Enter at minimum 100 tourneys between now and December 31st 2010

It starts tonight – wish me luck!
