If you're outside US, Canada is ok I think, you could try Betfair, William Hill or Ladbrokes.
All have very strong reputations, fast payouts and with all having sports books you get a fair amount of cross over with winning gamblers 'having a go'.

Agreed, it's difficult to get used to a new site after playing for so long on Stars. But had another success on 888 today, shipped the $1r in the $300gtd Show Me, having come 2nd the first time I played it. Guess this is going to be my fav tourney 🙂

I'm trying 888 and Lock and so far so good. Lock takes a long time to fill SNG's so I played more on 888 and found it pretty good. It's hard to feel comfortable with a new site but I guess the game doesn't change

I just joined 888 after reading this thread - needed to try something other than Stars, the big fields make the variance so high.

Managed to deposit $150 from Skrill and just placed 2/253 for $72 in my first MTT there. Ok so it was just a $3 Show Me tournament but it's a promising start.

Interesting tournament, where the winning cards are shown no matter what, even if you raise pre and everyone folds. However there seemed to be a glitch in the software and one players cards were not showing, even in all-in situations. Made it quite tough when down to final table.

Anyway, the play was definitely softer than Stars so hopefully get some good results on 888.

just mean getting slaughtered - Lose with AA then KK
So off to load another game and lose with AA and time to load again and lose with TT
one right after another, seems like I'm programmed to lose. I thought at least the next game would be different but nope it rides the same wave until my bankroll is gone.

assuming you cant drop down stakes and have no risk tolerance, you might be right. but most people drop down in stakes when they hit such a big downswing, or alternatively accept a smallish risk of busto and if it happens they go do something else.

but you are right, people definitely underestimate the bankroll requirements.

Wow, this IS scary! Even if you play very focused and skilled (with appro 70% ROI) this means your BR should be god damn solid to avoid going broke... 500+ Buy-Ins I think. That's sick.

im not sure what you mean "variance" programmed in - there is nothing that says you will run well for a while, then start losing etc.

Thanks, I decided to make a deposit on 888 and give that a go with $5 9plr sitngo. I tried party out a while back didn't mind it but heard they split their player pool into 2 groups. I think that hurts poker as the weaker players don't get any better so it's probably like a bingo match.

I will also look at Everest and Unibet as well. Do you think this approach makes sense? Like play on a site until it gets to the point where variance takes over and switch it up for a while playing between 3 - 4 sites and hopefuly when I get back to the first 1 it will treat me better.

Or do the sites have varience programmed in as to quantity of hands played?

yeah, Everest (Ipoker) and Unibet (microgaming) are also good value and small fields/few regs, Microgaming doesn't really has a SNG scene, only if you play high stakes hypers you'll find enough games running everything else is pretty dead.

i play on both 888 and party, and i like 888 as a good third option.

the tourneys are really soft, and the field sizes are small. structures arent that great compared with a small field tilt tourney for instance, but i think its made up by the fact that there is rarely any good regs.

i usually play the twister and the typhoon in australian night times, which are $50 5k gtd type tourneys, usually with 5k start stacks but the blinds jump bigger than they do on stars or tilt, but if you final table that i would be lucky to see 1 or 2 other regs. plenty of satellite entrants and only 100 odd runner fields.

they have a lot of smaller stuff too which is great for reducing variance
