Who?

Rob LaManna, 23, full-time student, part-time worker, poker enthusiast. USA player.
My screenname on all sites is “torubu”

I’ve been playing poker for years; always had a knack for it. I have a love for the game
itself, and always strive to improve. I read strategy forums on the regular,
and have been a member of three different training sites to date. These three
sites of course, were Cardrunners, PokerVT, and now Tournament Poker Edge,
respectively. I believe that I have taken from each a good understanding of the
game, and would really like to take a step up in my game, a step that I believe
I have all the potential in the world to do. However, I am humble enough to
admit that I do in fact need help to make that step, and that is where I turn
to the TPE nation.

Stats?

My earliest MTT success came on Full Tilt in late 2007. I managed to final table
the $3 rebuy, and score a second place finish for $733. To me at the time, that
was huge. I then played out of my bankroll, yet still managed to play and win a
$26 180 man for $1166 in what would remain my biggest score for a while. I
wound up playing games I should not have (nightly 50/50, and cash games in the
range of 200NL), and before the end of 2007, lost all of the bankroll. Also
during this time, I found moderate success on Pokerstars. I had split my
winnings between the two sites.

I then played around randomly, never being able to necessarily find that success again
for quite some time. In early 2011, I
started playing heavily on Stars again, profiting slightly. In March, 2011, I
found myself in a bit of a heater. I scored for 3rd in an $11 freeze
out to set my new biggest win of $2279, followed by the next night, a 5th
place finish in an $8 turbo for $915. I then cooled off a bit, with some final 18 finishes and small
cashes before that dreaded day in April.

Now I’m looking to play a bit more on Merge, specifically Carbon (until Lock opens up,
then I’ll be signing up through bigdog’s link). I don’t have the roll to play
the volume I would like, and despite a few final tables, I am without that
score. I believe in my game, and that I have an edge over a lot of the field on
Merge, as it seems quite soft.

.....;rc=367559

Overall, I have played 824 MTTs across the three sites, where I have cashed in 145 of
those for around a 17% ITM range. My overall ROI across these 824 MTTs is now
sitting at about 29%. While it may not be the greatest of volume, I believe my
statistics as they are stick me in a profitable category.

Plan?

I would like to find myself playing all MTTs in the range of <$16.50 freeze outs as well as <4.40
rebuys on the Merge network. I am not shy with grinding the small tournaments,
including those as low as the $2 tournaments that do not have a guarantee. My
schedule of playing doesn’t allow the most volume possible, but my main times
of playing will be Monday night from 7PM EST on, as well as all day Tuesdays
and intermittingly throughout the week as my schedule allows. I do have an
external monitor, a 23inch, which makes multi-tabling much easier. I also have
Pokertracker3, so I do play with a HUD for multitabling.

Further info?

I have virtually all of my hand histories stored through Pokertracker 3, and they are readily available if
needed. I understand the risk of staking a USA player at this point in time,
but I am hoping to create a working relationship with a winning player now or
as soon as possible, to pre-empt the coming legislation that will reopen the
doors to online poker for US residents once again. I am also open to discuss percentages in the
staking deals that would benefit both, but on the level of understanding the
risk any backer would be taking on. I would be more than willing to look at
percentages that may not benefit me the most to begin with.

Of course, you could PM me here. Alternatively, my e-mail address is rlamanna@gmail.com
and my Skype ID is lamanna.robert

Look forward to possibly hearing from somebody, fingers are crossed. I appreciate any time spent looking over this as well, as I put forth a fairly good deal of effort into it. Hopefully seeing that effort transcends
into any decision over this!

EDIT: I just last night final tabled the Merge 100k for 8th, which would affect my stats from above fairly greatly.
