basically if the tournament costs $1000, and you want to sell off you sell 10% for $100 and then they get 10% of the winnings

what some players do is charge markup. they do this because they believe they are +EV in the tournament, and so are a better investment and can charge accordingly.

if it is your first tournament and you are just looking for experience then you probably wont charge markup but when you get more experience at selling and people are wanting to buy from you then you would charge some markup.

hope that helps

Ive have seen players sells pieces of them selves and ive seen stuff like 1.2 or 60/40 but im unsure how it works.

I have a few live tournaments coming up soon and my friends who are not in the poker world want to buy pieces of me but im unsure how to work it works out.

I thought it would work out like if the tourny cost £1000 and 3 players each bought 10% seperately then they would get 10% each of my winnings. Is that right?

Cheers
