Been a while since the last TPE live podcast

I did a podcast about a year ago where I talked with KB & RFB about ego's and how to deal with it at a poker table and certain situations.  This is the type of situation that has gotten me in trouble.  It's a leak of mine and I know it. Both online and live.  Prob even more live because you get to see your opponent.  For every time I make a good fold, there's that 1 out of 10 that gets me and this was one of them. 

My ego came into play and I basically said, "**** this dude.  I'm going to give him the pile and shove it in his face."  Well.................. He took that pile and stacked my chips.  At times, your ego can get you and I admit I didn't need to do that.  I was playing well and running deep.  I continue to learn lessons.  In the last two years in big tourneys I have shot myself in the foot.  This was one of them.

I'm not perfect and not a great poker player.  I'll continue to learn from my friends, the pros and any one else who knows more then me.  Wheeeeeee  

I just didn't think he would mini-raise me with a set, instead of getting more chips after I double barrel depending on what the turn and river were.  But I jammed and he got them anyway.

So what - he was doing this with a set or he sucked out? (assuming you meant he did have 55 or 66)  I was with Diego on this on the podcast giving him credit for a set.  There's still 150 left and those fields were so soft, so I don't think the CL will find it necessary to get out line of with someone showing strength in early position who could cut his stack in half.

Just more info about my AKo hand that was talked about on the Podcast.  The tourney was part of a big series that Delaware Park had (Greg Raymer was the big star coming to the main).  This tourney was the $500 on saturday one week before the main.  I think there was a GTD $75k or 100k, good a nice amount of solid AC/Philly/Md tourney regs, some pros (Adam Cook, Gordon Eng, a few of our TPE members....) and a BUNCH of clowns.....  I'm a step above the clowns, lol. 

My villian, 28 yr.old Asian-american, I'm confident in knowing most regs coming to these tourneys in AC/Philly, but never seen him before.  Came to my table with huge stack.  I stand by my initial read that I thought he was solid/competant, but not sure after how he played this hand.  He had raised a few times and played a few pots since coming ot the table and won them.  Nothing out of line.  This was the first hand he limp/opened.  I was surprised when he flats my raise of 12k.  Even more surprised when he mini-raised my cbet.  I plan was to ISO, hope to hit the flop, cbet regardless.  Ok, I got that..... Yeppy, but then he mini-raises.  I agree with everything you guys said during the podcast.  I just didn't think he would mini-raise me with a set, instead of getting more chips after I double barrel depending on what the turn and river were.  But I jammed and he got them anyway.  Online, I am 95% never getting away from this.  But, live I think I need to find a fold button some how............ Just not sure what % lol.  I'd like to say 50%, who knows.........
