Hey, the audio in the WMV download is really out of sync. Are any of the others better? Sounds like CCuster is just talking over aznallin the whole time!

2:30 44 I like flat for all the reasons you said. What do you do with like 33 or 55 on that board? If you flat these and make a move on the turn, then I think that strengthens the decision for a flat on the flop when you do hit because it keeps the line balanced.

5:30 with 22 on the button.

Any chance your cbet sizing influenced his decision to 3bet instead of flat?

Also, what turns are you barreling if he had flatted?

And if flatted again, are you triple barreling any river?

    7:30 66 in late position

To determine if I have odds to set mine, I want the effective stacks behind to be 20x the bet I have to call because I know I am not going to stack them every time I hit my set. Is this incorrect thinking? How do you determine when you have odds to set mine?

What are you doing if he bets that turn?

    10:00 K3o BVB

Again, I find myself confused about the same question which is what to do when we whiff the flop? My guess is float one and evaluate the turn? This is where my game will need the most work if I every move up and play against decent opponents.

29:50 99 on the button. When he flips over QTo, you say it’s not something you wanna see.

What do you think is his 3bet shoving range there given that you have tightened your opening range in the last few orbits?

If that range consist of a lot of hands you are flipping with like QTo, what do you think about a shove instead of an open there given that both blinds have about 20bb or less?

Sorry guys, that’s my bad. I had to edit out a distorted sound and it clipped an entire track, moving it. The fix is on its way. Rendering should be done in an hour or two and up then it will go straight up.

These boards are great to make plays on, which is why I hate my raise more and more going back. Kxx two tone, are in a larger part of flatting ranges then raising ranges, especially 3 betting. AS he 2 bets only 3 hands basically that are happy with that flop. AK/AA/KK. Meanwhile all his AJs/AQs/TT/JJ type hands are hating it, but dont really want to check. So putting in a raise can work a lot. I may not always make a play here with my missed pairs, sometimes I may float, or may fold. Depending on my image and table dynamics.

  9. CCuster 911

I dont think this type of player(very TAG) is making plays based off my sizing on the flop. However I think he is choosing to make some bluffs here(hence my 4 bet) because a number of reasons:

    1. I am BTN, my range is wide, and I am pretty much c betting this flop 100%.
    2. It is the final table and he might try to exploit his image. We have already seen him open up a little so maybe he is doing it some more.

If he flats my flop bet(my single bet not my 3 bet) I am probably barreling very little. And if I am barreling, its to 3 barrel, as most of his calling range cannot call 3 streets=, but will almost certainly call 2.

I may also bet flop/check turn/ bet river if I get a good runout.

  10. CCuster 911

20x the bet you have to call is a little extreme. A lot of people choose to try to get around 12-13:1 on the bet, but if you plan on making plays or not strictly set mining(like I did with 66), you can get away with around 8-10:1.

If he bets again on the J turn, depending on sizing I will call or fold. The thing is though I dont expect him to bet a lot on J turn without AK. Even KQ may check a good % of the time, as one of the main hands he was ahead and getting value from of is now ahead of him (KJ). This goes back to his 3 betting range. people tend to flat KQ/KJ type hands here pre, so with his 3 bet, a lot of his range missed, however he is forced to c bet basically given he is in position. So again the only hands really happy in this spot are AA/AK and we can take KK out because not many people bet it here when flopping top set.

Floating all depends on texture and sizing.

I will try to give a small guideline to what I look for:

    Floating:
    Low boards
Wet boards when he bets small(as top pair+ is a smaller part of his range, we can rep it better)
Dry boards that dont nail him but he bets a little large(like J94 type boards and he bets over half pot). Doesnt make much sense to bet big as there are no draws, and our call is very strong.

    Folding:
Axx boards facing a decent sized bet.
Draw heavy boards he bets big(usually signals strength)

  12. CCuster 911

Well its something I dont want to see because its the bottom of his range but in good shape versus me. Hands liek A7/K8s are a higher part of his range as they are better versus my entire range, but play worse against my exact hand(they are not flipping where QT is.

I usually hope to see A-rag in spots like that as they have 3 outs, even though its probably in better shape as a whole versus my r/cing range.

I expect his 14 BB reshove range there given dynamics is somewhere around: All broadway, A2s+, A4o+, 22+, maybe even hands like K9s/K8s

Which we are obv in great shape versus, but would prefer him having A-r or underpairs.

Shoving here has a lot of merit, because there are not many hands that we are adding by “inducing” that we are ahead of, but that is only considering BBs range. SB has 20 BBs and we can add a good chunk of weaker aces(probably A5s+, A6o+) by min raising where as we are getting these hands to fold by shoving.

  13. CCuster 911

The problem with floating this board is that we are not going to be able to get him off at any logical point. If we have an Ax sure we might be able to get him off by checking turn and betting river on good run outs, but we are not going to be getting a lot of folds this way.

You need to have boards or spots where it is going to make sense for you to bet in a lot of spots for value and stuff, when you float. So when looking for spots thinking about what hand you want to “rep” when you float, and see how many of these hands can bet a lot of turns.

  14. loxxii

I will try this out. The only thing I would add is whether or not a board is dry may depend on where the bet came from as well. Like on J94, I think LP raising ranges have more Js and one gapped broadways than EP ones. This board would be wet to those hands. QT makes a draw and all the gutshots are there too.

Also, I may float an LP raise on Axx too as that raising range has a smaller percentage of As and if he doesnt have one he will likely check the turn a lot because few hands can catch up if I have the A im repping by calling the cbet.
