on the aces hand you folded would it be a viable option to just shove on the flop? seems crazy but it is a 25% boost to the stack and it seems certain that you are ahead but if the hand goes further someone is going to improve

shoving when checked to originally? i dont see this as an option, this will reduce opponents’ calling ranges to look like QQ, JJ, 66, QJ, Q+hearts, KThh, T9hh, (all of which are doing very very well against us) and arguably exclude a ton of hands that we would actually have beat

Something I would like to see in a theory video is how to play more of a LAG style. I constantly see players who are opening a lot of hands running over the games. I have an idea of how that’s done, but I would like to see it in a classroom setting so that I can understand it more deeply instead of just winging it.

I think we can discount JJ and QQ somewhat. That said, their calling range would still be 66, QJ, strong draw heavy.
I like a check shove here because some of the weaker draws and Qx may take a stab when checked to. Also, if the action gets very heavy before it gets back to me I may be able to get away.
I think a c-bet is rarely getting through and we have to give up on a ton of turns anyway.

1. If you had 20-25bb, how do you feel about limp shoving in a spot like this for the same reasons you don’t want to open and then c-bet here?
2. I agree that an open shove is better here, but what do you think about a hand like KQ? I think it plays better post flop and most times you can get it in on the turn with 2 overs at the very least. I mean, I might shove KQo but I am always inducing with KQs.

Also another quick note on the ATs hand. You said you sized it poorly because you have more than a pot sized bet on the turn.
In the grand scheme of things how much more horrible is a 1.1x PSB shove than a 0.9x PSB?
Had you turned any spade or card higher than a 9, I wouldn’t fault you for shoving that stack.

dont think JJ or QQ would be too far off from ThePunter facing my UTG vs UTG1 open, but yes those are discounted by all others i think. i like ch/shove > cbet > ch/ca among the other options, but like i said i opted to take a low variance line here multi way

yeah you bring up a good point. the whole hand was overall just a mess. execution didnt work the way i wanted it to. the overall message was that if i wasnt planning on shoving the turn, the sizing pre and post was poor.

i like limp/shoving better around 15-20bb. 25 certainly seems heavier, esp when you have an opponent in BB who can 3b/f. with 25bb u have fold equity and if hes going to 3b to say, 4.5-6.5bb (depending on your open size), then fold to a shove its a sizeable chip gain (1.5-2x even) over limp/shoving (where hed be making it 2.5-3x and then folding).

I would be interested in a theory video on playing draws. I tend to play my drawing hand too passive unless I’m very short stacked and have no other option. Knowing how and when to bet/raise drawing hands with average stack would help me a lot.
Also, I love your videos series!
