Hey guys, this was a $44 OSS event on the Winning network. Not sure what to do with J8s in the BB here with 9bb. Is calling and taking a flop OK, or would just shoving it in be better? Maybe folding? Thanks for the replies!

I'm shoving here.  Button could be very wide here.  SB calling looks weak.  Good spot.  Even when called you have a good chance of both cards being live.

I like the flat especially with the SB flat giving you a decent price. You barely have fold equity with given stacks involved in the hand. Check/shove or lead/go with draws and most top pair/2nd pairs.

SB flat may be “weak” in the sense that isn't AA, but I doubt it's “weak” in the sense of being behind J8s or likely to fold to a shove. I mean, it takes a pretty decent hand to cold call out of the SB, and I don't think he every really should fold to a BB shove, especially if you're contemplating doing it this wide.

Shoving may well be profitable, but calling is almost certainly more profitably unless both of these players folds way too much.
