31:00 with A8o. I was falling asleep and just about to not do the assignment until Daryl somehow called me out on it. Fuck!

Ok, so we have the bet sizing tell on him so his range is weighted towards stronger hands when he minraises. But he just flats the 3bet and the c-bet on a scary board. This and the ICM pressure on him makes me think he doesn’t have KK+ or air. Seems more like the nuts (99,TT, AcTc) or a marginal hand he will fold to a turn bet if he doesn’t get there (naked nut flush draws, maybe JJ-QQ, AsTs, maybe a combo flush/straight draw with no showdown value.

Well, the flushes did get there so the only hands he folds to a barrel are AsTs and maybe JJ-QQ. That’s only 13 combos which may be only a small part of his range for flatting the flop.

So I think the turn is a check fold. I am going to go out on a limp and submit this before I un-pause the video so that it will be locked in forever if I am wrong. Here goes nothing…

FUCK! I guess I was wrong about the ICM pressure. I cant fathom a hand that calling the c-bet and then folding to the shove is good with.

38:10 with 88. What do you do with the small flush draws here? And do you play the ones that can turn straights differently than the ones that can only turn straight draws (which is all of them I think)?

Ya I gave a lot more random crap in his range and definitely discounted the top part of it more then you did. Generally ppl call flop with ranges a lot wider than we expect them to ( if we’re assuming they play like us) especially a guy like this. Also I dont think you’re asking yourself what hands would he raise OTF as well, which leads to giving him a way stronger range than I think he has

I’m not sure i def dont c/c. Prob close between c/r and betting flop. prob dont have betting cuz I dont think he’d bluff raise me a ton on this board. idk tho. not sure I understand the last Q

The last question is asking if you play small flush draws that also have outs to hit a straight differently than the ones that don’t.

My guess is it’s best to c-bet them all because you are right that villain probably wont bluff raise the c-bet often.

I loved this series, Daryl, and I’m not surprised to hear that you put a lot of effort into it. It shows. Showing people the way you build your ranges is so important for people to understand why you’re playing a particular hand in the way that you are. Also great the way you ask questions, point how you should adapt once you get a read on a player, etc. I’m sure it demonstrates to a lot of people how much detail they aren’t picking up on when they play.

It’s such a common question to ask “what do great players do that I don’t?” and this series gives a bunch of answers to that question.

Speaking of answering questions, really cool to see you so active in the comments section. Keep up the great work, I look forward to watching your future videos and going back through some of your older ones!
