Love the fact Daryl is part of TPE Nation… after his article and seeing he was coming on board I decided to come back as a member… great deal…. now Daryl for the future could u please use another replayer or setting… this one usually blocks the stack size between the cards and the names etc… quite annoying…. Thanks for the great vid

    hi daryl,

just a question about a hand that comes up at about the seven minute mark of this video.

blinds are 60/120 and you have about 1600 in MP.

utg opens for 300 and the next seat flats. you say after the hand that you are shoving TT+ in this situation, i would have thought this would be a great spot to shove at least a bit lighter than that (maybe 77+,AQ+)?

after the raise and the call there’s almost 50% of our stack in the middle which gives us a great price on a shove.

even if UTG only has either (TT+,AK) or (QQ+,AK) then we would still have around 40% equity with a range of 77+,AQ+, which is probably what i would shove there.

and that’s a worst case scenario for his range, if he is opening any wider then we should have some fold equity as well as our equity when called.

of course we have to factor in the chance that the caller was trapping or that someone wakes up behind with a monster, but even then TT+ seems like a very tight shoving range, it would be great if you could discuss this sort of situation a bit more.

sick play and explanation with the QJ hand against Varico’s open UTG and some awkward stacks behind you.
Will def be trying this play if the spot is there.

AJ is a little to loose of a call for me. Not sure how loose someone would be or if they would jam 77 or AQ in that spot against to early position flatters, unless they are the bigdog…or other aggro type.
