really don’t like the flat with AA against isildur since he already played back at you a few times and the call with AQ against a over 20 bb dry shove against a nit seemed poor as well otherwise a great series

Well, remember ftrk had shoved on him nearly every time he’d 3bet Isildur? If you listen to his commentary, he said his flat was designed to get someone behind (I.e. ftrk) to put their chips in the middle, which was a pretty reasonable expectation given the action at the table preceding that hand.

Actually, you’re right, that still doesn’t explain why he flat rather than 3bet, since every time ftrk shoved on him, it was over his 3bets rather than his flats. Sowwy.

So I guess not only does the flat look kind of nutty since he’d already 3bet folded to ftrk’s shoves twice, it gives ftrk less incentive to shove in the first place since there are less chips in the middle.
