At ~10:50, people never fold here when they do the 1k block bet in this spot on the river. I’ve been paying close attention to these situations and I swear every single time a raise here gets called… it really is a donkey play but they tell themselves “ok I’ll block bet to prevent him from putting in a big bet” and then when it gets raised, they rationalize a call saying “well I bet small so he’s gonna bluff a ton so I have to call”. I mean its completely retarded logic, but this is the sequence of events that seems to happen 99% of the time.

But to be fair, when the guy with AK checks back the turn it wouldn’t make any sense for him to have anything jamming river for value… it’d look really bluffy to anyone, a good or bad player.

    Ben,

Knowing what we know about mileu (villain donk-betting 1/2 pot with 96hh, hooding a 3bet and check/raise/calling J9hh on the turn with a draw and gutter, etc) by ~16:00 of the video, what do we make of his 3bet squeeze range now when Hero had AQ earlier? Would you guess that weak players like that are capable of the light squeeze, or did Daveyt save himself a potentially huge headache folding preflop there?

Actually i wouldn´t agree with that comment. Perhaps more often if you check back the turn but if you barrel flop and turn, and villain donks river i think you can get him to fold a lot.

Excatly that.. guys who are playing non-standardly in that way post flop, are going to be getting more creative pre flop as well.. however.. i still think folding is fine even with that information, as stack sizes there are a real headache and we are still quite early around the table.

I looked back at this and I think you’re probably right for bad players because they cant hand read as well. But I know I wouldnt jam river against a good player because they’re more likely to call when confused / when we dont rep anything.

    Ben,
A question for you regarding the 88 hand at 39ish minutes.
They get a suited flop of hearts, now the villain bets alittle less then half the pot, wouldnt it be more likely that he has one card of hearts here, and trying to induce good pot odds for himself, seeing that its easier for most people to call then to raise in this position (when we dont have suited hole cards obv.) So, wouldnt it be a good thing to raise pot-size here, to induce bad pot odds to the villain? i think that with a raise like this, giving him bad pot odds, he will fold that one heart more often then not, true?

very awesome video reviews, Ben, helps alot!
