Pumped for this series…love the commentating and really like Marc asking questions to the Big Dog with his own remarks during the review. What I find interesting is the 3x sizing until the antes. This maybe something I need to start doing more of. I find myself 2.5x once blinds get to 50/100 but by doing so I am allowing people to call lighter, and not polarizing their ranges as much. Thanks Bigdog!!

Great vid, I play a lot on party poker where the structure is such that antes dont kick in for ages (3k starting stack, no antes till level 7 at 100/200/25) and find myself bleeding without premiums, should i open up from the beginning in these tourneys? or wait till im semi short and try stealing blinds?

bigdog how do you ever call there 1000 chips with 88 to set mine??! (19:50)
It is such a minus EV play!!! You and your opponent should have at LEAST 15-20 times the bet behind in your stack!
    Speaking of leaks.. 😉

yeh several times they were talking about hands and giving out false info. That 88 hand they acted like it was a single raise pot when in fact he put in 17% of his stack in on a set mine lol. Great video overall tho

I have implemented bigdogs strat into my game and have seen much success. Watch goleafsgo vid for a different view on early play. Why not combine the two strats???? they both crush so seems genius!

You should have 20 times the bet behind to set mine? Thats interesting. My thoughts are if you have 40 big blinds or more I have no issue with you peeling a flop and trying to set mine. Although flatting 88 isnt just to try and flop a set.

  9. boang12

Bigdog had 40 big blinds starting the hand, but he called 7 big blinds preflop with it and both of them said it was a good spot to set mine. Also there was a raiser and a caller in hand before the re-raiser squeezed it so also have to worry about them coming over the top of both of you. I just thought it was funny that neither of you noticed to be honest. Blinds were 75-150 and big dog called 900 pre if I am rememberng correctly with a 6k stack or so.

I have a question on the A6s hand at 32:00. With the board being so dry wouldn’t it be better to check back the flop and let your opp. pick up a weak/second pair so you can try to get some value or give him a shot to bluff on the turn?

    The T9cc early on.

You seem to think it’s a really massive mistake to flat his raise there, why exactly? If we understand why we’re playing the hand then it’s unlikely we will put in too many chips post flop when behind and we have potential to flop really big and stack one or multiple opponents.

So we’re looking to flop two pair, a straight or big draw to continue and if the flop does come Txx or 9xx then we’re going to control the pot size as much as we can and not get married to weak top pairs.

Isn’t that a more profitable outlook on the hand? I was really quite surprised to see you say it is a fold.

    The 86ss also around 15mins.

It folds to you and you’re in the CO. Isn’t this an open everytime? A one-gap suited connector in late position, we’re most likely going to play a heads up pot in position vs one of the blinds which is a decent scenario.

The worst thing that can happen is we get 3-bet from the button or blinds and we just fold.

  13. PounceBounce

Also why did you bet the turn in the hand above. You have 86 on AA2cc 8h. I don’t see any worse hands calling you on the turn other than a flush draw. So we just get called by better and fold out worse hands for the most part.
