Great series! Your statement of Minimize losses, Maximize Profits and pick up pots that most wouldn’t is what MTT is all about, thank you BigDog!

At around 43 mins u say you fold 42o because he 3b u the orbit before. Isnt it less likely he will 3b u in the exact same spot an orbit later? If he does then u can consider a 4b or just the standard fold.

47min with AK. You dont see another option ? I would never go all in there, what if the big stack wakes up with a hand ! With that stack i would never risk that much with AK.
Flatting and give the big stack to shove is a bad play, all in is way to risky and donkish in my mind. Fold will be the right play every single time for me.

Ok well in my personal opinion. Folding here is a horrendous option. You have a premium and the bigstack has been 3 betting you alot. Your never folding to him in this situation so its a clear isolation shove and if your missing this type of spots with folds then i could be a reason your not stacking up in some tournys like you should. Granted the shover does have KK but he is shoving way wider then ak there. If the bigstack has kk or aa I just got coolered but folding and giving this spot up instead of isolating for the dead money is defenetly the wrong play in my opinion.

I guess it could be less likely but my point was I dont really need those chips and the guy showed a little resistance. Lets pick on someone else because we dont need to pick on the one guy that has 3 bet me from time to time.

definetly learned sth here – i have to agg up (i would have folded AK here because i would have thought i dont have to take the risk with that big stack deep in a big tourney)

btw ty for this series imo one of your best, great explanations!

I´m a bit confused about the hand where you open 910o utg and then folds to the 9bb shove.
I would never open with a hand i´m not willing to call of with in this spot, you are raising into four stacks with less than 10bb. I just don´t like to put myself in spots like that but you dont seem to have a problem with that.
Always when i´m going to open light i check the stacks behind me, and if there are any stacks with less than 10bb i just fold instead just to avoid theese awkwad spots.
I´m a bit surprised that you don´t seem to think that way at all, i´ve seen you do this before in this series.
I don´t mean to critisize your game, i´m just wery curious about how you think in theese spots.

    Thanks for the great vids!

Yeah, i see what you mean and you are right ! 🙂 The shover is not worrying me, if the person to your left had a smaller stack i would shove everytime ! 🙂 But as you say, what are the chances that he has AA-KK. My play will always be shove in these of kind of spots from now on i guess 🙂 THX

Didnt remembered the hand correctly :/ The bigstack 3-bet you and you opened UTG. I will fold here and not risk my tournament life. It just feels donkish for me, ohh i have AK i get 3-bet and shoved on from a smaller stack, i have to go all in :/ bad play in my mind.
    Important points:
    – The chances that he has a monster is bigger because you are UTG and get 3-bet from mid-late position.
If you raised from HJ,cutoff, button and he 3-bet and the small stack shoved, then i would go all in because the big stack knows that we can be very light from late pos with a big stack. 🙂

Hey Marcus for the most part I would agree with you. I am always calling off in this spot. However I had gotten away with so many steals these 2 weeks that I didnt want to give away any equity what so ever. I just wanted to fold and keep my chips and continue to pick up pots. So normally thats a call if I raise into that stack.

To address your other point. If you watch some of my other series. Im always saying to watch the stacks your opening into. However in the sunday million it changes because people are playing so standard. Its still pretty plus ev to be opening in these spots because they are not shoving light. Eps if they think they have minimal FE

Obviously folding is bad but i really don’t see how you can advocate shoving as optimal. This deep that guys 3b range is gonna be extremely polarized so why not just flat the 4b and fold to a shove from the 3b’er. I don’t think we have to worry about him owning us with AJ or KQ bc i really doubt these hands are even in his 3b range. Even 99 and TT are probably just flatting your open. Also if you flat the 4b it looks super nutted and that guy seems competent so doubt he will get out of line.

Yeah you can just get it in and say oh well i got coolered but thats really just an excuse for an unoptimal play.

it is so very good to watch a few vids from the start to the end of the tourney. The strategies and the way you think at the end of the tourney to the final table is a huge insight into aggressive play
