I have been watching the videos in tpe university and see them putting people on ranges i have seen videos like the before but for me to be able to do this i need to know what they are seeing what they are looking for to be able to do this.  I will never be able to watch someone do it and do it myself if i don’t know what it is they are doing to come up with this information.  I need to learn how to do this, i need to know if there any books or videos or what i need to do to know what they are seeing to come up with this information.  Please if you know of any good books or videos let me know i can’t become a good poker player without know this and i am really struggling with this and can’t find out how they are doing this.  I will never be able to learn this if i don’t know what it is they are doing just watching someone else do it without know what they are doing isn’t going to help me. thanks for your help

Hey NeoB,

Andrew Brokos (Foucault) has an awesome series here from a year or two back on hand reading. I understand you were more interested in books, but the great thing about the majority of Andrew’s series is that they often require minimal “screen-watching” time. Andrew’s Hand Reading series falls in to this category. I drive trucks in Central London and I was able to study this series very thoroughly whilst working. All I needed to do was to take a pause occasionally to write out the hand’s run out and refer to it from time to time.

Sure, it’s not an ideal way to study any video series, but it worked for me. One of the series at TPE I learned the most from, btw.

Re: books. Well, although a little out of date, Harrington On Hold’em contains a lot of hand reading examples. Still can’t go wrong there as far as I am concerned.

The Kill Phil/ Kill Everyone series, although newer, are more concerned with the math behind Hold’em.
