First night of REAL LIVE PokerStars in the US again.
Jason Somerville, Chris Moneymaker and Jen Shahedee all Pstars PRO were playing. The nightly $109 was cool. got like 140 runners. 2800 for 1st. 13k in the pot. Was Chipleader for a bit early and middle of tourney. Then the suckouts started esp at the end. Uhhhhh. Oh well, on to the next.
But the thing I love the most is the software. Playing Borg/Party SUCKS, WSOP is good, of course playing on those other older US sites was ok.
It’s awesome having STARS back. Looking forward to seeing how this thing grows.

I picked the best time to move from Manhattan to Jersey City…I’ve only played a few hundred hands as part of the soft launch, but I agree the software is incredible and a much welcomed change

Yea, the tourneys and everything else will get better in time. Once people see it’s the REAL deal. More & More players will come. I only play on Borgata for the Sunday major and now WSOP is going to lose most of my 10k nightly business because they are dicks and ignored me for weeks.

For us non-Americans, does this mean you are able to play on Pokerstars if you are physically in New Jersey, or only as a resident of New Jersey? And I take it it is only with other players in the US as well – and not with the international player pool?

You must be physically in NJ, but do not have to be a resident. No liquidity w/ the ROW, just NJ for now

we have a WINNER. Just took down the BIG $109 Nightly on Pstars NJ w. Jason Mercier, MoneyMaker, Jason Somerville and Jen Shahade all playing.
Other players were just giving Mercier chips early. WOW, was CL’er early and go to FT 2/9 Then 3 handed won a huge all in. HU we made a deal my way. I’m happy.

Just out of interest…no problem if you do not want to say, but I listened to you on the podcast…where were/are you a police officer? Interesting to hear about tunnel vision in your work. I’m a pilot, and we get taught the same thing about mind set… it can and has been fatal… getting so focussed on one possibility and disregarding all the (obvious) evidence.

Hey Riceman, I am still working as a police detective in NJ. I remember doing the podcast (thanks again to KB & Diego). I have to admit, no matter how many times I talk about “EGO” or tunnel vision. I still get it from time to time. Obv, I try not to at work, because he can be deadly to me or anyone of my partners or the public. It’s a “LEAK” of sorts. I’ve talked about it a bunch from time to time. For the most part I have put it in the past, but every once in a while, it comes up.

A detective in New Jersey! That sounds pretty glamorous to me! I love movies about cops in New York…I thought American Gangster with what’s-his-face…Russell Crowe was awesome. Or have I got that one confused with another movie? I watched Serpico the other night. I love all that stuff!

btw, just if you have a spare moment, and are interested in how mind set/ tunnel vision can have lethal consequences in aviation, Google the Flight 401 Everglades crash from 1972. It makes for chilling reading.

SHIP IT ! Another BIG $109 Win on PokerStars NJ for the kid. Got heads up with the CL and took a chop for most money. Wheeeeeeeee, not bad for a kinda part time player, lol
2 weeks 2 wins.. Stars is AWESOME by the way. 100% the best software on the planet. LOTS better then any of the NJ Sites like WSOP & Borgata/Party poker
