I played some live cash last night at the local casino and got put in a difficult spot and I wanted to hear some of your opinions. I have been at the table for a few hours and just maintained my SS of $300 (about $325) I am on the button and get dealt JJ — UTG raises to $6 and gets a call from MP player it gets to me and I make it $25 the SB calls and the UTG & MP call.

The flop comes Aclub10clubJclub one check and then MP says all in for $280 before he even finishes the cutoff says “ALL IN” snap reshoved $340 I go in the tanks for about 6 minutes before deciding to fold my set and here is my thinking.

The UTG raiser I assumed at the time has a range of something like pocket 10s, A10, AK, or I don't think he has QQ/KK here being that he didn't reraise pre-flop. I also think that K10 with the K of club could possibly be in there too. The guy from the cut off I have played with a lot and know how he plays and that being said, he never reshoves here without the flopped flush or maybe AA, but I don't think he snap re shoves that quick. The SB ending up folding out of turn, so I lookeed at him and said nice flush and folded face up and watched his face sink. He has the flush and was in shock that I folded.

Being RO I can say that the turn was a 10diamond and the river was a 10heart and the guy in MP had AK off and ended up winning the hand with runner runner…. sick game, but I am still happy with my fold and play.

I play a lot of cash games too. Easy fold as the action is 4 way. Even heads up, I would play this cautiously.
Getting married to second best hands is not good. And here, it is obvious someone has a low flush and someone else is going for the higher one. Either way you are behind and you need the board to pair. Just do the pot odds calculation and get yourself out of there. Simple as that. Is this Parx btw?

based on results, I call.  🙂

I like the fold as well…even against hand we beat we are not in great shape. What do we do with Aces i this spot?

What does it change? We are not worried about a better set here 🙂
