What ruling would you make givin this hand situation….

Cash Game (1-2 NL $200 Max Buy)

Involved players (3 of them in this hand) are all around $300-$400 in stack sizes.

Action as follows…

New hand – Pre Flop – First Betting Round (ie no pot yet other than sb-bb)

folds around to Player 1

Player 1 (not a blind or a button) raises to $15

folds to sb (Player 2) who reraises to $90

BEFORE bb (Player 3) has a chance to act, Player 1 announces he's all in and pushes his chips in

reacting to the all in of Player 1 the sb (Player 2) snap calls; both Player 1 AND Player 2 expose their hands.

during the quick heated moment of all in,snap call and both hands flipped, the bb (Player 3) with cards clearly visable is trying to express the fact he was missed in the action.

YUCK!

How would you resolve this?

Ok here is how the hand was resolved…

The FIRST mistake was with Player 1 when he acted out of turn by shipping all in.

Therefore his chips are momentarily commited to the pot pending what action he will be facing.

The player who raised to $90 and then snap called the all in mistake by Player 1 (Player 2) is allowed to pull his all in back (because his mistake was induced by the first mistake of Player 1) but he must leave the $90 raise in as it was properly bet in turn.

Action now goes to Player 3 as a $90 raise to act on.

If he (Player 3) folds or calls then Player 2's all in stands (as the action to him would still be the $90) his chips are commited and action goes to Player 1.

If he (Player 3) raises then Player 1 can pull back his all in, leaving behind the first raise of $15 (as the action to him has changed) and make a new decision.

Player 2 then makes a decision after Player 1's action and the hand plays out from there.

The fact that the players exposed their hands is forgiven as a mistake BUT a warning is issued to both players that if the “mistake” is repeated by either player (exposing hands) then they may face a penalty such as mucking the hand.

This was my solution to it, during live cash play at my job (I'm a Poker room supervisor).

Was interested if anyone had different thoughts.

I like your decision on this hand but it all depends on what set of house rules you guys have.  My local brick and mortar just changed there rules and it is a very interesting rule.  Now if a player bets out of turn, the person before him can check (the bet out of turn then stands) or he can bet any amount and the player who acted out of turn only has the option to call or fold.  At first I really did not like this rule, but the more I see it in action the more I like it.  Gives the player a penalty for acting out of turn.
