At the Rio today –

I've doubled up to about 410 from my original 200 stack, and was about 10 minutes from getting up when this hand came up…

I get QQ in MP, and make it yo11.  Two callers. a guy who I have seen around the Rio, innocent-looking Asian kid who just sat down, makes it 22 on the button. He's only got about 150 behind him. This is his first real aggression, but as I said, he hasn't been here long.  I call, because I'm not really sure what this min raise means -the others fold.

the flop – KJ9, I believe it was rainbowish. He bets out 35.  What's your next play here?  I'll tell you what I did after some replies.

I think call is the only valid play on the flop. Probably planning to call turn as well and possibly fold river depending on what he gives off.

Flop is an easy check/call. Probably not putting any more money in the pot after that though. It's a pretty marginal spot to get into in a live 1/2 game where easier spots will eventually come up. No need to try to soulread someone or to assume they're capable of running a multi-street bluff.

If he's going to try to barrel you off your hand here, good for him. He's making a mistake in the long run. You don't need to fight for pots in a small-stakes cash game the way you do in a tourney. People will hand you their money when you have strong value hands.

I think I just said the same thing 3 different ways…anyway, let's see the turn, it's been a week and a half lol….

Of course I didnt subscribe to this post so I had no idea if anyone replied!

You're right, I could have waited for better spots – the turn came an 8/instead of checking here I slid out 45 and he shoved. I tanked for a while and called – he had JJ.

Screw it.  Live 1-3.  I would check fold and put him on a K.

Much better spots to make money.
