After reading tazzjazz excellent post ” roughed up in Vegas” , it got me thinking that I really have a very polarized range on the river. I play £0.25 /£0.50 cash on Sky poker and as there is a small player pool, i am playing with the same players everyday. I started out quiet well and still do well against the poorer players.

The good regs however seem to have me figured out. Here is a hand that left me scratching my head.

The villian in this hand is a winning agg player who normally keeps firing at pots until he meets resistance. I adjusted to him well for a while by calling with him with my strong hands and raising him with my weak hands. He seems to be copping on to what I am doing.

I limp from the CO with Ah 10h, villian raises from the button to £2, the blinds fold and I call.

Flop  Jc 5c 5s

Villian bets £2.50 into a £4.75 pot

pot £9.75  Turn is 8s

I bet 7.31

Villian calls

Pot £24.37  River Ks

I bet £18.28

Villian calls and shows Ac6c for a chop.

villian said after the hand that if had anything that I wasn't betting the river. wow, just typing this out, i can see his point now.

Any help or views on this hand would be much appreciated. How can i become less polarized on the river?

I don't think your biggest problem here is the river. There's no reason to open limp the CO. You also have a rather strange hand to suddenly turn into a bluff. If you don't think your hand is ahead of Villain's range, then there's no sense in calling the flop, and if you do think you're ahead, there's no sense in betting the turn. Your line just doesn't make any sense. If you are bluffing with this hand, then you are probably bluffing a ton of other hands as well, which means that you are going to be extremely air-heavy. I have a series on here about bluffing that might help you better understand that concept, but as I said I think there's a lot more to work on here than just the river play.

Thanks for the reply.  Not sure I understand it fully but I will watch your bluffing series and see can I learn something.
