Hey there, I’m not new to poker, but AM relatively new to poker math, calculating EV, fold equity and the likes, it’s been a long time since I’ve had to do maths on this level, and most of my experience comes from putting in volume… Which can only take you so far. Looking forward to the challenge.

Hope to gain a lot from the vids, forums and community here. Loved Andrew Brokos’ getting off on the right foot series. I hope to be active in posting hands and learning from the best and hearing everyone’s thoughts! Please send me your run good, and motivation!

Welcome. You’ll find that the forums are very welcoming to newcomers to poker. People won’t demean you just because you are new to the game (like happens on some other sites). Join the conversation. If you want an opinion on how you played a hand, you’ll get honest, blunt opinions but I have yet to see anyone mock someone’s play.

I am relatively new to TPE and at first I was reluctant to offer an opinion. I thought, why would anyone value my opinion? But people seem OK with me chiming in. Sometimes I may make a point that more experienced players will differ with, but no one seems to mind me joining the conversation which is really empowering.
