I am majorly tilted ATM. Hoping that typing this confession will help me get over it and move on.

History
I have been playing online for many years. Slightly winning player that is on a major down swing. I have been also working on my live game play. Have a casino about 20 minutes from the house. I have played in about 10 live tournaments in my life. Most of which have been low buy-in turbos or low buy-in shallow structure. I am a losing live player but learning.

Had some time today so I went to the Casino to play in the $40 Turbo. I get there and find that the schedule has changed to a $150 deep stack with 30 minute levels. Above my normal buy-in but does not cause a problem if I lose it. I decide to play. Starting stacks are 25K. In that starting stack is 3 orange colored 5K chips.

We are at level three (75/150) and playing well. I have won my share of pots at showdown and by being aggressive. Stack is at 34ish. Chip leader at the table when this hand happens:

Villain 1 on the button seems pretty TAG, lost a big pot to me a few orbits earlier.
Villain 2 definite LAG, reg, knows everyone in the casino. Has called many flops with position. Has recently lost 3 large pots.
The table is 7 handed. I am UTG+1, folded to me, I have KJs and raise to $400, button and Big Blind call. Pot is $1275.
Flop is 10,9,4 with the 9 and 4 being my suit. I have two overs, gutshot and 2nd nut flush draw.
Villain 2 checks, I c-bet $625. Villain 1 folds, Villain 2 calls. Pot is $2525
Turn card is a K. Villain 2 Leads for $1300, I am in seat 10 and villain is in seat 3. I look at his stack and he does not have many chips. I wear glasses to help read my cards but have a hard time seeing stakes at a distance. I ask him if he had any yellow chips left. He answers “NO”. I figure he must only have a 2 or 3 K back and I put him all in.
I ****ing forgot about the 3 orange chips for 15K. The bet is about 4X the pot. He thinks about it and calls 44. His trips hold up.
I realize my mistake when the dealer tells me how much I owe villain 2. I announce to the table that I forgot about the orange chips. The table is pretty quite and no one makes any comments. I feel like an idiot and begin to tilt. A couple hands later Villain 2 sits out a few hands and walks to other tables to share his good news with his buddies. Now I am beyond tilted. Still have 22 bigs and ready to fight back. I pick up Q8s with 3 other limpers in the pot. Flop is Q,8,4. I get all in with 2 other players. Want to guess what I loose to? You guessed it, 44 again. I am out. I could not get out of there fast enough.

Just feeling like it times to find another hobby.

Thanks for reading.

Oh man, that sucks!

In the spirit of misery loves company I'm going to share with you my story of a bad-beat I visited on myself.

There is one casino in the city I live in – it's nearest competitor is about 1,000km (600miles) away.  I went there for a Friday night $250 buy in tourney.  I'm having a cider or two (not intoxicated because I'm driving), having a few laughs with the table and generally having a fine old time fishing it up picking the low-blinds to give them tiny pots with statements like 'they're suited!', 'it's called gambling', etc.  It's about twenty minutes before rebuy period ends and i get my AA cracked on the river by T9o, but I shake it off and reload.  My goal for the night is the basic fundamentals – count my opponents stacks, keep track of the pot street by street, assess bet sizing v pot size, etc.

Mercifully I redraw to the same table and basically knit it up for a bit and take 5 nice yummy stacks off guys who are convinced I'm dead money.  At this point my table image should be fish who runs unbelievably good.  Now I start to use it for stone-cold moves and I'm basically loving life.  We get to the bubble, my stack has gone up and down but its respectable – about 50bb, table captain has about 75bb two seats to my left, tournament average at this point is about 30bb.  All in all a dream run, but I get greedy and take a few spots that were marginal, but they worked so I just assumed live play was tighter.

I'm talking crap with the guys at the other end of the table  and it's my small blind.  The guys in middle position are tanking for weeks and it folds to me.  I've decided blind on blind steal is the most appropriate thing to do at this point, because big-blind has his cards in his hands, hovering above the table ready to fold.  I look down at 5c3c and declare all in.  Totally standard so far – big blind folds and I'm very happy.  Then the dealer tells me to roll over my cards and I'm like wtf? But i comply, and then I realise someone else is already all in – I actually say “wow – I simply didn't see the all in” it's the table captain and he has be covered – and he is holding AQo.

I hit a pair, he hit a better one.  Whenever possible I try and remind myself my goal was to get some live experience, keep track of street by street action, pay attention to pot sizing and stack sizes and that I ran deep in a field where I was totally outclassed.

It doesn't help.

Thanks for sharing Fatal.  Oddly enough, it does make me feel better about my live misclick.
