I was getting curious if trying to post too much in the forums is or could be a sort of mental leak? I’ve recently been trying to be a more involved member in the forums and really include them into my range of study. So I just got curious, to me it seems like id rather really think a post though(preferably before the pros get to it) post my thoughts, right or wrong, and gauge them vs the pros answers than to sit back and wait for a response and try to think BACK to my own original thought process. Anyway, I’ve increased my involvement and just thought, “am I trying to hard?” “Could this be -EV someway” I’d be very interested if anyone has some thoughts on this in any way.

Everything in moderation. I try to work in posting once or twice a week. I find reading and writing in the forums helps me deal with variance better.

This is likely the answer.  Balance forum posting with video study, chatting with poker friends, reviewing HHs, etc.

Everything in moderation definitely holds true in most instances. But it's also true that when it comes to learning, everyone learns better in different ways. Some people are visual learners who learn a lot from training videos. Some are experiential learners who learn by trial and error while player. Some are more cognitive, and learn from forum posts and articles. Figure out what works best for you, because it may be that you're spending big chunks of time on a learning format that's actually really inefficient for the way your individual brain works.

Tony Robbins teaches that the best way to understand a new thing is through associating it and comparing it with something you already understand. So if you want to learn new things in poker, try to find ways in which they link with other ideas you already know about. Find one poker concept and connect it to another. Identify whether you learn best in a visual format, a written format, or by talking with friends, or some other way, and explore what you already know in greater detail, to see where it might lead you.

Make your learning more effective, make connections with things you already know, and the information will settle quicker, helping you to avoid 'information overload'. The reason 'information overload' happens is because your brain has all this new info and nothing to tack it onto the end of. It just has a big pile of info and nowhere to put it. When you give it something to associate with, it knows which boxes to put each bit of info in, and that leaves room for more.

See? I just taught you this concept using the metaphor of sorting things in boxes, which you already knew about. That's how learning happens. 🙂
