about 25 players left and 18 pay. UTG has chips to fold and read was that he would fold to my shove. Is this a situation where I could have waited longer, played through the blinds then looked to re-shove on the next orbit? A little to impatient perhaps?

Yeah I dont like your hand you would have to have a very good read on the table that you could get it through everyone. That being said at a 2.20 SNG your never gonna get it through 🙂 You need a hand with better showdown value.

Thanks for the feedback guys. It was a situation where I got impatient and made one of my famous insta plays followed by regret seconds later. Happens all the time its a brutal bad habit. I am trying to work on slowing down and really THINKING the situation through.

Im in the same boat as u Metasploit. I act way to fast. The sicko thing about it is that I realize my mistakes as soon as I make them. We definatley have to slow down tons. Just keep at it tho till a lot of it is second nature. Gl at tables.

Easy fold here. Mistake I used to make quite a bit when I first saw good players restealing, and realized I wasn’t doing it enough.

Restealing here from an UTG raiser, in 2nd position is not a very good spot imo. Even if the rest of the table folds (which in a $2.20 is highly unlikely), 75s is not going to play too well against a typical UTG range. If you felt that this player was stealing from UTG (again unlikely at these stakes) then i’d be more inclined to do this from the small or big blind.

Generally at the micro stakes I feel people are not opening wide enough in EP to warrant re-stealing from. I mostly try to re-steal from late position opens, and then only when I feel the villain is opening light.

In the situation above you can definitely wait for a better spot imo. Even if no good resteal spots come up, you’ve still got a ton of chips to start open shoving with plenty of fold equity.

i moved this thread to MTT Strategy, where all strategy discussion should be.

as to the hand, this is probably a fold. there could be situations where this might be OK, but the original raiser would have to be opening really often from EP, and most likely more often than he was :/

better spots are like late pos (LP) vs. middle pos. (MP)  raises, in the blinds vs. LP opens, etc.
