Hi!

I put myself into a weird spot on this one, I was wondering if I have overplayed it, what is your thoughts nation?

Pre flop I have V on a range close to this: 22+, A2s+, K9s+, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s, 98s, 87s, 76s, 65s, 54s, ATo+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo, T9o, 98o That would raise and call, because we are 100bb deep.

Poker Stars, $15 Buy-in (50/100 blinds, 12 ante) No Limit Hold’em Tournament, 8 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager – The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: 9,925 (99.3 bb)
Hero (BB): 9,832 (98.3 bb)
UTG+2: 17,664 (176.6 bb)
MP1: 9,508 (95.1 bb)
MP2: 9,396 (94 bb)
MP3: 14,226 (142.3 bb)
CO: 10,000 (100 bb)
BTN: 9,049 (90.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Kdiamond Aspade
UTG+2 raises to 200, MP1 calls 200, 4 folds, SB calls 150, Hero raises to 950, UTG+2 calls 750, 2 folds

Flop: (2,396) 4spade 3club 6club (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+2 bets 1,300, Hero calls 1,300

I didn´t like this flop, but most of V´s range wont hit too hard this flop that makes me drawing dead, so I decided to check call, thoughts?
I think V will raise here with all his pairs, A2-A7, suited broadways that has flush draws and backdoor flush draw,is it too wide?

Turn: (4,996) Kheart (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+2 bets 2,500, Hero raises to 7,570 and is all-in?

I kinda like this turn, but I would be happy to see V check turn, so I can make a small river bet and get value from worst pair, but when he bet 2.5k I don´t like to call and check river oop, so I was between shove or fold, coments on this?

UTG+2 calls 5,070

River: (20,136) 7heart (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results: 20,136 pot
Final Board: 4spade 3club 6club Kheart 7heart
Hero showed Kdiamond Aspade and lost (-9,832 net)
UTG+2 showed 9diamond 5diamond and won 20,136 (10,304 net)

Flop is pretty close. I’d definitely call with a backdoor flush draw. Part of the trouble is that you probably get barreled off of your equity, including sometimes off of the best hand, on a lot turns because your range may at least be perceived as weak and capped (which gives you some incentive to check-call big pairs…). Turn I’d definitely shove, can’t see doing anything differently there.

Just a question on the shove Andrew. Are we shoving because we perceive no fold equity?  Can we not keep him wide here and call and let him bet his bluffs that are never calling our shove?

Agree with Andrew that flop is the tricky part here. I think PIO or SP would probably tell you to employ a really mixed strategy in this spot, but I don’t mind the check-call as long as you’re also calling some other hands.

I think check-jamming the turn is all you can really do there. Too many weird river spots.

I also think calling preflop is perfectly valid, incidentally. There’s nothing that says you even have to have any 3-betting range at all here at 100bb stacks in a four-way pot. That said, I like your raise sizing.
