There are 200 left in the 33$ Miniftops event 20 out of 12,000 runners. Still tons of soft spots (sound familiar?). Guy on my left is the best player, in my estimation, of my opponents.

Big blind is playing 11/9/2 over 123 hands and is intent on blinding out.

Small blind is playing 17/14/0 over 35 hands.

BTN is playing 23/17/12 over 64 hands and has already three-bet me (and I folded quickly and painlessly) 2 orbits ago in CO v HJ.

In the 64 hands BTN has seen, I have folded to four 3bets and four-bet all-in once w AKhh (won). I have been opening actively but not maniacally. They are playing 1 table, they went deep in a 55$ tournament on full tilt but busted that about 30 minutes before this hand.

We get paid 184 now, no four-figures until last 27 (though I didn't know payouts at the time). Big money up top obv.

I kind of want to rip it.

this one is like the good old situation with the devil on my right shoulder and the angel on my left one.

Devil: he is good, spot is good, he abuses you. stack is optimal. ship it

Angel: why bottering and risking your tourney life if the overall field is week

think piling and folding are both very viable options. recently i do choose a lot the less variance roots and maybe fold….

…or call pre and evaluate

cheers

im pretty torn. the advantages of flatting is that we can flop pairs and bluff catch his barrels. and we flop some ok draws on some boards. folding seems ok too since our stack is so strong.

Shipping is totally viable and seems like the best stack size to do it with,

You get called by AK. You flop ATX. You brick out. You are out of the tournament. Do you want to start a new game? (Y/N)

Well, couple reasons …

1. We can't call a jam

2. We could get flatted and miss the flop

If we jam, sure, we're not called by worse ever. But at least we're not folding the hands we're flipping against by allowing them to ship over the top vs. us.

So I think it's just a jam/fold based on the standard set of variables you use to figure out that stuff.
