First off let me say I’m finding the site and vids very useful, great job guys.

Wanted to post a couple of hands from a tournament last night. I seem to be able to make deep runs fairly often, but just can’t close the deal. Would you have played these two hands differently?

Hand 1:

This seems to me like it may have been a bad fold considering only 4 hands beat me here (not counting on him showing up with a 6). Opinions? Was I just a big fat pussy here?

Hand 2: The one I busted out on. I had been completely card dead for about 1/2 hour at this point and my few steal attempts failed. This was only my 9th hand at this table and this was the 3rd hand villain was opening, 2 of those shoves. I was not interested in holding on to cash a few spots higher and figured I would take a coin flip if he shows up with AK, AQ, KQ. Was this a horrible call? Would you have waited for a better spot that may have never came?

This should definitely be in strategy as this section was meant more for non-strategy questions (although we probably didn’t make that clear).  For example, questions about poker lifestyle, their history coming up through the ranks, game selection, br management questions.  I think that’s what we saw as more relevant type of questions for this section.

Also, it’s a bit hard to read the way the converter came out.  If you want to PM me the raw hand history I can fix it and move it to strategy.

Hand one is a snap call imo.

Hand two is a fold you have no FE (obviously we are calling someone that covers us) and your either coin flip or crushed find a better spot.

I would agree with those above.  I snap call the first one.  In my mind, he probably has a strong ace and figures it is good.  I would wait for a better spot on the second one.
