this is my bustout hand from the merge 50K last night. I think with 16bb or so this would be a no brainer but with 23bb there is not enough in the pot to risk the ship. i dunno

Marginal at best. I think maybe raise folding was the best option here. Make it 30K and fold to the reshove?

Personal opinion, just for throwing it out there. 4’s is a bit lower than I would like for a pocket pair shove with that many big blinds. Like you said if you were lower stacked it would be an easy move. With the raiser and caller ahead of you I would raise if they have had tendencies to 3 bet light but if they have been on the tighter side I probably just set mine and try to catch them on the flop.

Way too deep to be 3 bet shoving. I think the beauty of a good 3 bet shove is the fold equity matched with decent chance if they do call. Vs 2 players, the fold equity seems lower but more importantly I think we lose way too often here and with stacks so deep it doesn't feel like this is going to be even close to +EV unfort…
That said, the second player just flatted so it feels like he could have a pocket pair as well…probably better than ours.
We are getting great odds here though to set mine…which feels like the best line.
Here is another thought…just tossing out there, I feel like this is a touch better than 3 bet shoving but not as good as set mining? what about a 3 bet pre to like 40k and shoving the flop if checked to you?
I think end of day…
Calling > Folding > 3 betting (shove on flop) > 3 bet shove pre flop

i should at least point out that this table was very aggressive with the 2 chip leaders opening and raising pretty much every pot. still not a shove
i'm curious, should there even be a shove range here? are 1010 and AQoff shoves here or three bet calls perhaps? it feels dirty shorthanded to be just set mining with 88 and 99. would you ever shove QQ+ or are we trying to induce with the top of our range?

(Not advice) If they have been very agg I probably raise with KK and AA and look for them to either call or reraise. With 1010-QQ, AK, I probably just shove because I would rather not have to play them post-flop. 44-99 I’m probably set-mining and looking for that set. With AQ I’m not really sure what I would do honestly, that would probably be a game flow instinct decision.
This is a tough spot Mike. It feels too nitty to fold 44 only 5 handed on the button to two agg players. I think 3bet folding would be bad with your stack size; it would also create a good squeeze spot for the blinds. Yeah I think calling and taking the risk that the blinds don’t squeeze you out is your best option. You are getting a little over 10 to 1 against two agg opponents in position. I like that option best.
