$600 Venetian.  Main Villain (me, tight image, have 3 bet hero twice).  Middle position opens to 2.5x Villain directly behind flats, hero squeezes to 9(?)x.  Don’t remember his exact squeeze size.  Hero has AQdd.  SPR ratio on the flop was about 4.

Flop is 743dd. Check, check

Turn is 2x.  Check, check.

River is Qx, bet call.

Not too controversial on the river to go for value, I was just curious about his line.  Villains hand looks a lot like a mediumish pair.  We obviously have great equity against that range.  Strange not to bet; I guess he was going for a check raise semibluff on either street (he picks up the wheel draw on the turn for 16 outs against my likely range.)

It does look a little strange to 3 bet, then never bet.  Thoughts?

I’m confused about who is who. It sounds like the player with AQdd is the one who 3-bet and he’s in position, but then you are talking about him check-raising?

Anyway, why do you say it is strange to 3-bet and never bet?

Sorry, wrote that in a confusing way.  AQdd was the BB.  I thought it was interesting he wouldn’t semibluff at some point; not that 3 betting then checking was strange, just that he chose this hand to do it with.

He could have the best hand and probably won’t make you fold if he doesn’t.

I get that he won’t fold better on the flop.  Is this hand too good for a multi barrel bluff?  What hands should be bluffing the flop?  Ace wheel suit with flush draw or backdoor flush draw?

Also, I would have thought this board would be a 100 percent cbet since he has the stronger range.  Or is it too dynamic with a 2 flush some coordination and overcards likely to come.

Hard to say without stack sizes. Can you be more specific about what exactly you mean when you say he has the stronger range? How would you quantify that?

That aside, the simple fact of having the stronger range does not imply c-betting 100%.
