WSOP $365 circuit event day 2
20 players remaining. Next pay jump at 18. Current payout almost $2500. First place $55,000

villain is 30’s guy with beard seems like competent amateur. He is big blind with about 350k 17 bb
I am 50 yr old have been somewhat active. Was table chip leader until an orbit ago when lost 1/3 of stack with standard AKs versus KK all in pre flop. I mention this as losing a big chunk affects table image.

I am small blind this hand about 470k 23bb

Blinds 3000 10000 20000 7 handed
Folds to me in SB and I raise to 50k with Jc8c
villain in BB calls with little hesitation.
Flop Qc 9 3 rainbow. There is 121k in the pot
I bet 60k. Villain hesitates a bit longer but calls. There is 241k in pot.
I have about 360k remaining villain has 240k remaining. plan was to jam if turn was an ace, club or ten.
Turn 3c.

First thought after the fact which did not appeal to me at the time is jamming preflop. I am pretty sure this is a profitable open shove. I thought villain would fold to regular raise and Cbet more often than optimal which is why I only briefly considered jamming before settling on 50k. Is jamming far superior here?

Assuming preflop as played, should I have different actions up to this point?

Is my plan for turn a good one or should I have had different plan?

Input appreciated.

All seems fine. You’re right that jamming pre is +EV but also that a smaller raise could be more +EV.

Did the villain fold or did you see the river?

Villain tanked for about 2 minutes then called with Q7o

River was a blank.

Think your line is fine, I might prefer a limping strategy preflop though. Most players will not be attacking a limp very often at those stack sizes.
