Hey everyone,

Live tourney at del park. Decent field, some donks, bunch of tourney regs and a few pros. At my current table for many hours. Playing great 112k at dinner. We are at 1000/2000/300 after dinner. Last levels was worst of day. villain and I have no history. Only been at table for one level no hands vs each other yet. My image is TAG all day not losing many pots. 150 left. Get paid at 36.

At 90k in bb w AKo. Chip leader limps from mp. He’s at 170k seems solid. C/o n button both call. I have AK in bb and make it 12k to go. Chip leader calls. The other fold. Heads up.

31k in pot. Flop A65. I bet 14.5k, he mini-raises to 29k

Proper play? Right play? Smart play? Just thoughts. Jam? Fold?

Hey Pierre. This seems like such a tough hand to lay down, but when you really think about it, is he ever doing this with a non nut hand?

You made your big iso raise pre and got an A on the flop – even the worst players know you should have AK a large % of the time – and he's not concerned with you shoving his minr.

Is he ever doing this w AQ or AJ? After the action pre, don't think so. And what semi-bluff hands is he ever doing this with? I can't think of any at all if this was a rainbow board.

I think whenever you go deep in a mtt, it's folds like this that help you get there. BTW, has he open limped before this?

Think my amounts are off slightly. After I lead out the flop I still had at least 30 bb’s behind.

mmfitter is right on the money,  though is there a chance he is doing this with 78,  pocket 77s or pocket 44s, or even trying to test if you raised him with KKs QQs or JJs , it seems that this is a small percentage of his range here and unless you have a read or have seen him make plays that indicate this I think you lay it down.

could we call and re-evaluate? if we call i doubt any of those hands putting us to the test would double barrel unless they are a sicko.

or is that just lighting money on fire?

Calling the minr and later folding would be a stack to pot ratio disaster imo – esp w a hand that is rarely going to improve.

Even though it's in the middle of a hand, still like to follow the rule of not just calling an amount that's 10% or more of our remaining stack if there's a chance I may fold on later streets.

With no history, I think it's a fold, I maen what he is limp/calling 6x to bluff you on the flop with? I think he is going to show up with another AK at worst, and probably 55/66 most often (a lot of live players like limp/calling small pairs for some reason). If you do think he's bluffing, then I think call>jam, as jamming essentially turns your hand into a bluff as he'll fold all worse except maybe AQ, (and may even fold that too), while when he has you beat he is probably not folding 2 pair/def not folding sets. Calling him down will let him keep bluffing, but given sizing and dynamics I really don't think he's bluffing in this spot.
