i think its pretty close based on your read.  I probably fold and pick a better spot, but I think others might disagree with me,.

That is quite close because of the $EV impact.  from a chip equity perspective it's wildly +EV but you're pretty much at a flip for your life.  I think i'd take the spot though because winning could really put you in position to take down this tourney.

I post my math below.

As a side note, for future posts you'll definitely get more responses if you use the converter.  It's the 4 suit icon in your editor window and there's a video on how to use if it you run into any complciations here:

…..converter/

note: if we tighten his range your equity doesn't go down much but if we widen it your equity goes way up so I think this is a good one for illustration purposes.

its not automatic but with you being in that 15 bb range its not horrible to take a shot at doubling here to try to win the tourney

no way he equity is so high on final table shove!!!! its a final table ppl especially in these low stakes that money means so much for all the players dont shove q9s and j9s and 89s … you hardly shove these just when u enter the bubble… (at these stakes!!! AND WITH 4 PPL TO TALK BEHIND YOU) i mean ok i maybe shove a JTs or similar with 18bbs somehwre befor the bubble or after the bubble but no way in ft…

and generally u like less viriance moves on ft.. u just dont look only +EV moves.. but laso – viriance, shove first and never call is a good line when u r low on ft.. i doubt i would call ATo either…  which has SOOO much more equity… my cold call range here would be at the very very minimum ATs

Being in the position you are in, I do not think your shove was a bad call. I think I would have made it with your reads as well.

Thanks for the responses guys!

I probably should have waited for a better spot, but this guy had really been playing wild.

When the tourn was down to 2 tables I brought up the other table, where villian was playing and

watched him make several shoves, loosing over half his stack at one point and gaining it back

on subsiquant allins. He was just a wild player and had I not witnessed this I would not have called.

I think he got lucky again and I didn't.

I think its close. I think I prob tank fold here but dont hate a call.

Your read that he is aggressive is an important point to this hand however I think I can find a bit better spot to get my chips in as I rarely see him opening shoving with much worse here and so you are mostly on wrong end of a 60/40 or flipping.

As I say, dont hate it but fold >>>>call IMO

There's no way I overshove KQs here at a $3 FT when most of them are probably playing scared.

The Variant should be shoving over limps but he is also doing with with hands that are ahead of KQs and seldom behind it…

OP says “Important to note that The_Variant had been very aggressive and had already shoved several times.”

I think you have to take this into consideration.  I definitely agree that we don't want to take marginal +EV spots at a FT but if a villian is showing himself to be shoving wildly you have to give him a wide range BvB 6 handed.

If the read was that he was playing tight/normal or even mildly aggressive I'd pass as well.
