You either have him beat or he has you beat.  Checking to you after the flop was the right call for him, he was out of position and wanted to see  the strength of your hand. I would have made a bet there because you probably have him beat with two pair. However, he liked the queen on the turn. It is possible he has QQ, QA, or if your lucky Qx. I think his check on the flop was to see if his queen was good because of the Ace on the board. Because you do not have enough information on him and you are not loosing a lot I would fold here. If you knew he was playing very loose then I may take another approach. You needed to make a good bet after the flop in my opinion.

You have to bet that flop IMO. Otherwise you just make it hard for you to know what to do on the turn and river.

If we bet flop and he calls……then we could check back the turn and call a smallish bet on river.

if we bet flop and he raises…..then jamming becomes +ev in my head because I think we would be ahead of most of his check/raise range and the times he isn't drawing and already has the flush we have at least a few outs to get there.

Checking behind at these levels with top two is bad I think. I think the hand becomes so much easier to play by betting the flop.

As played I think I'm ok with a fold there.

i bet the flop also, but the way you played it i think it is a call.  Unless the guy is a reg this could be any ace, and A3 is a defiantly possibility.  He re raises AQ some of the time, QQ everytime, so the only realistic hand that has you beat and is played like this pre is KJ, and considering the chips in the pot already I think it's a call.

Don't forget the times that villan has the flush already and checked expecting us to lead out……so there are a more than just the kj pre imo.

I'm 50/50 on calling or folding……I think I fold there a lot, but can see the case to call because of the dead money.

I think the biggest thing to get out of this HH though is the importance of betting that flop and narrowing his range for us to make a more informed decision…..as is we really have no clue where we are because we didn't make villan make a decision on the flop.
