The popular trend in poker atm is that in the later stages of a tourney the bet sizing gets smaller and smaller. I myself go to a min raise pretty early compared to some. With that being said why do we find it so absurd to open anything over 3x in the early stages? I myself am known as an aggressive player, but in the early stages of a tourney I'm playing simple abc style poker and betting my strong hands hard and letting go of marginal hands with ease. Pretty much only playing premiums. So why not open 3.5x or even up to 4-5x to get max value and reward ourselves for playing so tight early? It also helps to better define our opponents ranges. vs random players are we really concerned with playing such an exploitable style? Just my 2 cents. What are yours?
